Rodney's Cardboard:1996 Pacific Crown Collection Red

Hello folks! Welcome back to see more cardboard of Rodney Hampton.

Today's card is from 1996 and a parallel to Pacific Crown Collection. I tried to find some research on the odds of pulling these, but couldn't find any info on parallel odds and only found some on insert odds.

This is the red parallel. Base cards have gold foil and this one has red. I think the colored parallels look so great on these especially when you line them up together. Great base photography also helps.

 

Think I am only missing the silver now and will post the rainbow as I get it all together.

Breakin Wax:1996 Select Certified Football Pack Break (Insert Pull)

They sure don't make cards like they used to. In a world of thin base cards and about 100 parallels per product, I think some companies forget that simple and elegant is sometimes better.

That's what I felt Select Certified was.

For some reason my pack picture never updated so here is a breakdown without it. Every pack of 1996 Select Certified football comes with 6 cards and packs run $5 on the Jammin JD Sport Card website that you can find HERE. There are tough parallels to find and other fun inserts. Rookie class with Marvin Harrison, Eddie George and Keyshawn Johnson doesn't hurt either.

Select Certified base cards were full foil board and were thick. I pulled a good player in Elway.

Even got a Giants PC pull in this pack I didn't have.

And on top of that, I pulled a Certified Red, 1:5 packs, of great Chris Carter.

So far up to this point, this was my best pack break from my retro crate. But, I still have two more packs to go and there are reasons I have saved those for last. So stay tuned!

Retail Break Em: 2014 Sage HIt Rack Pack

I have been wanting to load up on this years rookie class long before the draft so I wanted to open up any and all that I could. So taking a chance on a Sage Hit rack pack that now could contain autographs seemed like fun.

Each rack pack comes with 32 cards per pack and six of those cards will be red parallels. Each one costs $4.99.

 I knew my luck on pulling an autograph would be very unlikely, which it was, but I was overly impressed with the parallel design. Check them out below!

These are a thing of beauty! The red isn't just a plain red border, it's a glittery type substance that catches your attention immediately when opening up the pack.

Overall, I was very happy with this break. I pulled a couple of key rookie parallels and plenty of rookie base. This years Sage seems to have a lot of value within. I wouldn't be surprised if I don't go back for more.
