MMMB:Surprise! I Sent You This!

 

The hobby if full of great people that you either find or find you or maybe is you, at least you hope.

Today's mail day was thanks to @NickKorora who I met on my 90'sSportCards Twitter account. Which go follow if you haven't yet. We have had a few exchanges on and off via trades and just mail days in general and not too long ago I got one from him that was completely unexpected.

He sent a great variety of 90's NY Giants items that started off with a couple of Starting Lineups.

The first one was Super Bowl winning QB Phil Simms, the other, 

is one of the greatest to ever play on defense, LT.

These will make great additions to the mancave. I am still in need of the three Rodney Hampton versions I hope to land at some point.

This was just the beginning of surprises!

He also sent this pack of hockey cards, stay tuned for the break of it and a new series coming up!

A generous stack of NY Giants cards from early 90's to some later and even a couple from now. There was way too many to show off so I narrowed it down to some.

LT I didn't have. Can't go wrong adding many LT's.

I have never seen these, really cool card and concept. I would chase a base set if it looked like this.

 

And a couple more Ikes. Can't go wrong with any cards of any player during 1995-1999 for me but when they are Giants it's extra special.

Breakin' Wax:1995 Pro Line Classic Series 2

Pro Line was a great 90's product that had autographs and top notch photography.

One of my favorite products of 1995, there are many, was their Series 1 Pro Line Classic.

So when I saw a Pro Line Classic Series 2, I was pretty excited.

However, it was a much different product. Instead of autographs, it focused on Phone Cards. Collectible Phone Cards was where it was at in 1995.

Every box of 1995 Pro Line Classic was numbered, cause you don't want over production. Every box had 18 packs with 6 cards per pack. Each pack came with one of those "money makers" Prepaid Phone Cards.

The base set looked much different in Series 2 than 1. The photography was still there, but the bottom of the had an added shine to it. The cards were also more susceptible to damage.

There was some fun inserts however in this product.

Images Preview Card fell 1:18 packs. Back in the 90's you would sometimes find an insert as a preview of an upcoming product. That Images product was pretty cool by the way with it's etched aweomeness.

Printers Proof on a hot top rookie!! Well, back in 1995. No odds given.

Phone Cards. These fall one per pack for the $1 ones. Odds get tougher the more they are worth.

$2 phone cards fell 1:6 packs

And this $5 one fell 1:18 packs. Not too shabby of a player either

And it's also numbered to 3577. Kind of an odd number to be numbered to, but I will take it.

Sorry, that was a Gary Vee joke if he had a magazine in the 90's. This is what I was saying earlier about how hot Phone Cards were and why Pro Line was pushing them so hard.

This was a fun break, not very costly either. I was hoping to land a couple of the cool inserts but no such luck here. It is what it is but the Emmitt Smith was a good find.

Kicking Off The New Year Right!

My second to last trade of 2019, came from @Alindz99, that was our first trade ever.

What turned out to be a tweet by me looking for a specific card, which he had and I plan to show off soon in a separate post, turned out to be a whole lot more than that. We boomed out a pretty solid trade for both of us in the long run. It's really cool how that works out.

I tried to hit every part of his PC up and he returned the same for me.

Totally digging the Rookie Introductions of Shepard. I think the base set should look like that for Prizm

 Some examples of why 90's cards are the best especially the mixed in Fleer Metals

 Phil Simms rookie card. I do have one, maybe two already but why not another. A Giants legend.

Some Rodney's,I do have them all but I always look to upgrade my not so mint ones. The Tiki I was hoping was Rodney. I really need that 1997 Black Diamond base card. Only one on eBay its $15 for a base

 Giants team draft card. Never seen or pulled one of these

Followed up by Bill Parcells. The Giants have had some great coaches over the years, well except the last few. They need to figure it out again. Coaching can really change a team around.

And a nice surprise to finish, a Xena Warrior Princess auto of Cleopatra. Any new addition to my non sports PC is a plus especially an autograph.
