Autograph Of The Week:Alex Borstein/Patrick Warburton Dual!

Hello readers!
For a few months now I have been staring at today's autograph card in my watch list. You know, watching it but more in the literal sense.

My main goal of this card was the Patrick Warburton part as I already had an autograph of Borstein but single Patrick cards list for much more. So I found this one cheap and watched it. I was quite surprised it didn't already sell and then the seller offered a markdown. How could I say no at that point?!

Alex played on Mad-Tv with her star role as Ms.Swan and is the voice of Lois Griffith on Family Guy which is the show this card is based on. Patrick played on Seinfeld, Rules Of Engagement (underrated comedy series in my opinion with a star cast) and has voices in about a million shows and movies including Family Guy as Joe Swanson. His voice is one of those you will always recognize. Both actors I really enjoy and both have a part of my nostalgia so I needed this one.

7 Day Trading Card Challenge Day 6:Favorite Non Sport Card

My buddy Tim over at Cardpocalypse, has created a 7 day Trading Card Challenge which has taken the blogosphere by storm.

There is a good variety of topics to cover throughout the challenge so are you up for the challenge? I am.

So let's take a look at Day 6 of the challenge. Favorite non sport card. Man, I could have gone 100 ways with this one as my non sport collection has really grown over the past couple of years. I love adding autographs of my favorite actors and actresses and singers.

But, I will go with cards from a newest non sport chase, my Chevy Chase chase. That doesn't sound right but it's true.

I already showed off my dual relic of Chase and Murray, but there are a couple more I added as well

How about this 6 piece one with lots of super star power from the 70s including one of my wife's used to be crushes in Robert Redford.

Or this 8 piece relic with many legends of comedy all on one card. This one is also a parallel numbered to 25. I had to really talk the seller down on this one and after much back and forth, we agreed on a middle number.

Once again, I am a tad disappointed they didn't use a small face image with the relics when they use most of these people in other parts of the product as actual images.

I am not sure if this is the end of the road with this PC or if I will seek others out. There is still plenty more different ones of these to chase.

Kicking Off The New Year Right!

My second to last trade of 2019, came from @Alindz99, that was our first trade ever.

What turned out to be a tweet by me looking for a specific card, which he had and I plan to show off soon in a separate post, turned out to be a whole lot more than that. We boomed out a pretty solid trade for both of us in the long run. It's really cool how that works out.

I tried to hit every part of his PC up and he returned the same for me.

Some Rodney's,I do have them all but I always look to upgrade my not so mint ones. The Tiki I was hoping was Rodney. I really need that 1997 Black Diamond base card. Only one on eBay its $15 for a base

 Giants team draft card. Never seen or pulled one of these

Followed up by Bill Parcells. The Giants have had some great coaches over the years, well except the last few. They need to figure it out again. Coaching can really change a team around.

And a nice surprise to finish, a Xena Warrior Princess auto of Cleopatra. Any new addition to my non sports PC is a plus especially an autograph.

SORTING:The Rest

Last year I tweeted out this photo on Twitter of my desk,

Immediately I had a comment of "wow that's such a disaster someone please help this guy sort things out." 

I responded with, "that's not a mess, that's how I sort. It's a bit complex."

I made a promise to that individual that I would do a segment to explain my sorting and here I am.

It really isn't as complex as it looks, at least to me. But, it is a bit in-depth with as much as I collect and as many sports as I collect.

So I thought I would make this series breaking down everything I collect and how I sort it. I hope this will explain the picture I tweeted and maybe give you some ideas for your own collection on how to sort.

Today I am showing off how I sort the rest of the sports and non sports I collect. Yes, I collect way too much. But, is there really such a thing??

When it comes to non sport, soccer, UFC, NASCAR or any hit I get from the rest of the sports I collect, they get loaded into penny sleeves, toploaders or 10ct boxes depending on how thick of a hit I get.

These hits then get placed into shoe box houses by what they are to make it easier to find something when I need to.

Up next, the base I sort by number. This is a very long process sometimes. Unlike the key four sports, I don't usually pull out an specific players or people so the stacks are bigger.

 and place into boxes marked oddball or non sport depending on what they are.

Finally, the inserts from all and 2015 Americana only get placed into binders by what they are. Every part has a small binder for it.

  

 

Once I get everything bindered, they get stacked on shelves. Not standing up of course as that damages cards in the long run as the pages start to fold overtime. They are stacked alternating so one side doesn't get squished and so I can fit many on one shelf. You may notice numbers on the outside of the binders. At one point I used to number them and keep what's in them in a notebook but that got too complicated with the alternating as I can't see all of the numbers now.

 

Another part I failed to mention above, is my giveaway/trade pile. I pull that stuff out and set it aside as I go along for people I normally trade with and which giveaways I run.
