7 Day Trading Card Challenge Day 7:Best Hobby Trend in 2020

My buddy Tim over at Cardpocalypse, has created a 7 day Trading Card Challenge which has taken the blogosphere by storm.

There is a good variety of topics to cover throughout the challenge so are you up for the challenge? I am.

So let's take a look at  the final day of this challenge, Day 7 of the challenge which is Best Hobby Trend to emerge this year.

There are many trends I could pick that were the worst ones sadly, but there were a few good ones I could choose from. I will go offbeat with this one and say, the Best Hobby Trend to emerge this year is.......

THE TOGETHERNESS.

With everything going on this year, I have seen so many collectors lift others up by doing giveaways and RAK's, etc. It's been great to see and be apart of myself. This year has been anything but great but seeing others finding ways to make it better for others not only helps yourself feel better but everyone else. I hope this hobby trend continues as I see the road not getting any smoother for the rest of the year as it appears the trend this year is a full push down of the pedal of bad things. I call it the 2020 Hunger Games.

And yes, of course there are still those bad apples out there but the only thing you can do for them is either pray for them or keep on encouraging them as well to make a change. Or you could do both. You never know what some positivity can do.

I wrote a piece over at Cards Over Coffee on Positivity which you can read here,

A Little Positivity

So I encourage you to do your best to make someones day better, start today. We are all in this together.

7 Day Trading Card Challenge Day 6:Favorite Non Sport Card

My buddy Tim over at Cardpocalypse, has created a 7 day Trading Card Challenge which has taken the blogosphere by storm.

There is a good variety of topics to cover throughout the challenge so are you up for the challenge? I am.

So let's take a look at Day 6 of the challenge. Favorite non sport card. Man, I could have gone 100 ways with this one as my non sport collection has really grown over the past couple of years. I love adding autographs of my favorite actors and actresses and singers.

But, I will go with cards from a newest non sport chase, my Chevy Chase chase. That doesn't sound right but it's true.

I already showed off my dual relic of Chase and Murray, but there are a couple more I added as well

How about this 6 piece one with lots of super star power from the 70s including one of my wife's used to be crushes in Robert Redford.

Or this 8 piece relic with many legends of comedy all on one card. This one is also a parallel numbered to 25. I had to really talk the seller down on this one and after much back and forth, we agreed on a middle number.

Once again, I am a tad disappointed they didn't use a small face image with the relics when they use most of these people in other parts of the product as actual images.

I am not sure if this is the end of the road with this PC or if I will seek others out. There is still plenty more different ones of these to chase.

Final day of the challenge coming up next time.

7 Day Trading Card Challenge Day 5:Favorite Hockey Card

My buddy Tim over at Cardpocalypse, has created a 7 day Trading Card Challenge which has taken the blogosphere by storm.

There is a good variety of topics to cover throughout the challenge so are you up for the challenge? I am.

So let's take a look at Day 5 of the challenge. One of my least favorite sports and sports to collect is hockey. Even though someday I would love a Mario, Wayne rookie and autograph of each player. I have so far done really well with trading off a good chunk of my hockey cards but there are some that I won't ever let go of despite not collecting the sport.

Most of those cards come from a Panini product called Classics which was released in 2012-2013. I busted about two boxes of the product and even pulled an Sp autograph somewhere in my collection. I was going to show that one off but can't remember where I put it.

So just for an example, I grabbed one of those cards which was my favorite of the group in this Red Kelly. Great photograph, signature and design of this card. Also, notice the on-card autograph appeal.

Card back also looks great including player stats and a small write up.

That does it for Day 5. Only two days left including a non sport one I suggest you come back for tomorrow.

7 Day Trading Card Challenge Day 4:Favorite Basketball Card

My buddy Tim over at Cardpocalypse, has created a 7 day Trading Card Challenge which has taken the blogosphere by storm.

There is a good variety of topics to cover throughout the challenge so are you up for the challenge? I am.

So let's take a look at Day 4 of the challenge. Favorite basketball card. What hasn't been announced fully, is that I am PCing Allan Houston big time right now. He was my favorite Knicks player growing up so I will take any and all that anyone has to trade, well, as long as I don't have it.

When it comes to basketball, I actually have quite a decent collection I could have chosen cards from, but I took the new PC and my favorite card from it instead.

Allan always made it rain just like this 2019-2020 Pink variation of the Making It Rain from Spectra. Hooooooooooooooooooooouuuuuuuusssston for three. Yes! I can hear Marv Albert's voice in my mind. He was one of my favorites to listen to and the NBA on NBC in the 90s was also epic.

This card is almost an eBay 1/1 with jersey number.

I will have further updates on Allan Houston over on Cards Over Coffee at some point. So please go follow that blog.

This has been a fun challenge so far, let's see what I will show off for Day 5.

7 Day Trading Card Challenge Day 3:Favorite Football Card

My buddy Tim over at Cardpocalypse, has created a 7 day Trading Card Challenge which has taken the blogosphere by storm.

There is a good variety of topics to cover throughout the challenge so are you up for the challenge? I am.

So let's take a look at Day 3 of the challenge. Favorite football card. I have many favorite football cards as that's my main sport to collect, but, I figured showing off one I haven't before works best and this one ranks pretty high in my collection.

A couple of months ago, I showed off this Darius Slayton add on my Snagging Cardboard blog but not many viewed it so many of you haven't seen this. I love the Giant, see what I did there, helmet swatch on the card. The card also has a spectacular design.

Even though the back is pretty lame. I wished they could have added a picture of the helmet on here.

Day 3 is in the books. Let's see what Day 4 brings us.

7 Day Trading Card Challenge Day 2:Unique Photo From Current Release

My buddy Tim over at Cardpocalypse, has created a 7 day Trading Card Challenge which has taken the blogosphere by storm.

There is a good variety of topics to cover throughout the challenge so are you up for the challenge? I am.

So let's take a look at Day 2 of the challenge. A card from a current release, any sport, with a unqiue photo. This one wasn't too hard for me to choose. There was one card that really stood out to me.

This Aaron Judge card. The 3rd base angle, I will call it that, of Judges powerful swing (and how big of a dude he is) really sets up a unique photo. Most card pictures of batters are straight on, not from this angle. You can see the fans reactions, catcher and ump reactions along with the clubhouse. It doesn't get much better than this for baseball.

There were a few football cards I could have chosen for today, but it was this one that took the cake.

7 Day Trading Card Challenge Day 1:Favorite Quarantine Pickup

My buddy Tim over at Cardpocalypse, has created a 7 day Trading Card Challenge which has taken the blogosphere by storm.

There is a good variety of topics to cover throughout the challenge so are you up for the challenge? I am.

So let's take a look at Day 1 of the challenge. Favorite card acquired during quarantine. I have picked up some great ones and it was hard to narrow down, but I will go with one I haven't shown off on here yet instead of recapping.

After Wes grabbed me the Series 2 Peyton Manning, I went on the hunt for the Series 1 Peyton which brings back so many memories for me. My father and I opened up packs of 1998 Fleer Ultra in the car while sitting at my grandmothers apartment building and out popped a Gold Medallion Peyton Manning. It was a beautiful card and something I wished I still had. Believe me, it's on my list of "will get" down the road. But, we also pulled his base rookie another time and for the past few years I have been wanting one. I am not a fan of grading, but for the price of this one and the Grade 8 I couldn't turn this card down.

The only imperfections on this card that doesn't make it a 10 is it appears the card stuck to the back of another. But, other than my OCD noticing that, I am happy to have it regardless.

Day 1 is in the books, I still have plenty more to show off. Some you have seen, some you haven't. It will b
