What's In The Mail Box? Grady M. Mail Day Part 1 of 2: Football

Once again Sport Card Collector Facebook and blog fan Grady Malachowski sent me a nice surprise package. This one came shipped in a blaster box which I thought was really cool and not something I thought of. Definitely gonna try it now though. You pay for the box, you might as well use it.

Upon opening the box, I could tell it was absolutely LOADED. It had stuff from baseball, football and a few basketball. The cards varied by team and was mostly made up of inserts which is right up my alley! Especially cool inserts.

Today's post consists of the football part of my mail day. The baseball part will be shown tomorrow!

Let's kick it off with some NY Giants base cards:

Topps inserts. Great players found with Brady, Manning and Brees and more:

The inserts continue!

What collector doesn't like die-cuts?

A few more inserts. I really like the Kaepernick with the "etched" out Elite card:

A few numbered goods.

Acetate inserts. I am a huge fan!

Then I will finish off this post with some SWEET Prizm parallels. I really like the look of this years Prizm.
Overall, this was a really cool mail day. But, remember, this is only part one. Part two is just around the corner! If you like baseball cards and shiny things don't miss out on that one!

What's In The Mail Box? @dpalagi518 Contest Mail Day!

I recently won a contest on Twitter from one of the hobby good guys, @dpalagi518.

Here is the prize that arrived today. I must note before you continue on reading that there were also six 1993 Upper Deck Ted Williams Best Hitters cards as well. For some reason, my camera decided that they looked best with a pink tint on them. I decided my camera needs to be replaced and didn't post the pics :)

Here are some sweet adds. Someone pays close attention to my posts and Tweets about my passion of 90's cards and Chrome. Especially refractors!

Then some sweet 1990's packs...did I open...you won't know til January :) But, I am pretty stoked about these!

A nice autograph...

And I love this addition. This is only my second National Treasures card and I am a big fan of jersey swatches that aren't just from a regular NFL game.
Overall, some nice additions so a big thank you is deserved.

Thanks again @dpalagi518 for the mail day and I recommend you giving him a follow on Twitter if you haven't yet.

As always, thoughts on my mail days are always welcomed!

What's In The Mail Box? Trade Day! 2 BASEBALL HOFer Rookies and MORE!

Once again, it's time for another tremendous Tim Yount mail day! This time Tim and I pulled off a great trade.

This is what he sent me stacked in a plastic box. I can't even begin to express to you the amazing stuff that was hidden in here and it will be awhile before I share the rest of it. A lot of 90's insert madness within! Wait to view it on the blog in January!

In the meantime, I will share some of the mail day with you. First off, here are some sweet early '00's inserts:

Then a new Jeter add, a SICK Yogi Berra and a couple more early 00's inserts.

A couple more great insert adds...

And here comes the BOOM SAUCE (before reading on note that the cards are not actually that bad centered, that's my horrible cropping from the pictures I took haha)...Cal Ripken Jr rookie!

Then a Robin Yount 75 Topps rookie!
Overall, an awesome mail day! Two rookies I really needed for my PC, tons of 90's inserts and other great PC additions. I can't wait to share the rest!

Thanks again goes out to Tim for yet another incredible mail day. Can't wait to exchange with you again!

What's In The Mail Box? Flair Set Needs, BONUS G-MEN!!

In what was supposed to be just a mail day with a few cards for my Flair set from my buddy Turk on Twitter, turned out to be even more exciting as he sent Giants cards as well that needed a home. I was more than welcoming to them :)

First off, let me show off three more cards to my Flair Football 2014 set that I needed. Three more down, more to go. If you have some Flair and see numbers on the right side of the blog that may help, please let me know! The missing set numbers are officially all updated!

Now onto the bonuses!

ODELL!

I know a lot complained about these parallels, but I am sorry, they are pretty stinking cool to me! Especially when they are Giants!

And though I loved all of the cards that came, I especially LOVED this one. So cool and /50! This may be the best looking parallel ever! I may or may not be saying that because of the Giants team border :)
A big thanks goes out to Turk for this mail day. I hope my mail day to you gets there soon and that you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed mine!

Thoughts on my mail day are always encouraged!

What's In The Mail Box? A Little Bit Of Everything!

I have mentioned this before, but the internet has provided me the chance to meet some great fellow collectors and on the Sport Card Collectors Facebook page there are many of them. One in particular is Grady Malachowski. This guy not only interacts on Facebook and my blog all of the time, but once in awhile he sends me an awesome care package. A few days ago I received one of them and was excited and surprised to see it. I didn't even wait to get home to open it. Another one of those "gotta rip open in the car deals."

In the package was a variety of my favorite teams, players and products I like. I can tell that Grady pays close attention to my blog and what I collect.

First I found these Giants cards

A few new Randle PC adds!
Yankee adds:

CHROME AND REFRACTORS!!!

My favorite team and favorite product, Crusade looks beautiful!

Then two NEW Griffey adds! Totally digging these!

In the end, this was one nice whopping surprise mail day!

I would like to say thanks to Grady for the mail day and I appreciate all of the cards. They will make great adds to my PC.

What's In The Mail Box? Tim Yount Mail Day Part 1: GGGG-MEEENNN

Ever since I discovered the internet side of collecting, I have met some amazing people. One of them is Tim Yount.

I have known Tim for awhile now and on and off we exchange gifts. It's not trading really, it's exchanging cards we know the other person will like. Sometimes even a few surprises or surprise mail days.

In my recent mail day from him, here is what I found.

Let's kick it off with a 90's insert! And one of my favorite Knicks! Double bonus!

NY Giants! Andre Williams Prime rookie, Prince is numbered to 99 and a Metal Beckham Jr. addition

Michael Cox is back on the team now and returning kicks. I am also a huge Crown Royale fan so this was a double whammy for me!

Awesome Lawrence Taylor! I am a big refractor collector as well.

Part 1 of this mail day started with a 90's card, now it will end with 2014 cards designed like 1990's versions.

If you have been following this blog, you know my love for 90's Spx designs. That's why I was beyond excited to hear that Upper Deck was incorporating those designs back into their Spx product as inserts. They don't quite look like the originals, but they are pretty close and I am still a fan.

Here is the 1997 design.

1996 ones:

This was an awesome first part of my Tim Yount mail day. The second part is even more impressive, especially the last card. You will have to wait til tomorrow to see what I mean. In the meantime, I would like to say thank you to Tim for part 1 of this mail day.

What's In The Mail Box?

Received in this nice Upper Deck NPN mail day awhile back from 2013-2014 Black Diamond. I really like the design of these jersey cards when I opened my own box, but I think this card looks even better than the ones I pulled due to the two-color swatch at the top. Check it out:

Have you ever received an Upper Deck NPN mail day? Let me know what you got!

What's In The Mail Box?

There are just some people who just make the hobby great, @badbrad1987 is one of them. This guy continues to be a positive influence in the hobby by congratulating others when they win contests, starting hobby discussions and giving stuff away. Last week I even was a recipient of his niceness. I woke up to a tweet asking me for my address for him to send some cards to.

Today, these arrived:

Cool Eli refractor numbered to 499

And a Ryan Nassib auto!!!
Brad had also included a note thanking me for all that I do for the hobby and said because he knew I only had one Nassib auto, he had a double and wanted to pass it along to me.

Well Brad, I welcomed all of these cards to my household. I appreciate your generosity to not only me, but to the hobby as a whole. We need more people like yourself to keep this hobby a positive place to collect. Keep up what you do, because you never know when good "cardma" could come back to you, whether its from others or from a random #SCCGivesBack package.
