Breakin' Wax:2021 Mosaic Mega Box Part 1

I have an addiction.

I can't seem to stay away from Mosaic football cards. 

Recently, I acquired two Mega Boxes in a trade I made with my father and was hoping for the best. I can't turn it away for some reason. I thought I had learned my lesson on trading for wax, but I haven't. 

At least not for Mosaic and Mosaic football especially.

Let's hope for the best with box one being posted today.

Every mega box of 2021 Mosaic football comes with 10 packs of 4 cards. Each box has no guarantees other than some shiny stuff and boxes run $60.

I didn't take a picture of every card from this break and just focused on the inserts and shiny stuff.

You Get In, You Score!

I posted not long ago about my break results from Top Shelf Breaks and mentioned at the end of that post I had gotten a pretty nice pull from 2017 Score football in a break with them, well it's time to show it off!

Since then, I have been in two more Score breaks and all were included in this mail day.

My first Score break I had the Raiders and my second I had the Broncos and Steelers. Both went really well in my opinion landing me low #d cards and an autograph for only $12 a spot. But, I will let you decide that.

Up first, the possible beginning of a Ware rainbow. Got the /20 and /50 here along with Amerson and Osemele gold.

 

Mr. John Conner.  /20 parallel and a gold /50 autograph. This guy could really step in when Bell is down or is off the field.

 

And finally, the biggest pull, a 5/6 Derek Carr End Zone parallel. I consider this the biggest pull of the group.

The Card I Have Wanted For 4 Years

My buddy @JGfan24ever struck again with set help and a surprise!

I knew he was sending some help for my 2014 Flair Football chase , but what I didn't know was about the extra card he tossed in.

Up first, my Flair set needs. I have officially completed the Row 2 set-thanks to him- and now have narrowed down the search for Row 1 even more thanks to @JGfan24ever.

With 11 more down, I am currently just 3 away from having the Row 1 set as well! I am quite impressed.  I am quite excited as I haven't completed a full set of anything newer in years as most of my set focus has been on the past which I will put a post about on a later date.

However, this Flair set brings back the past and present so this is my main new set chase right now.

 

And finally the card I have sought after for 4 years. I know it's a bit silly and most would laugh at me for wanting it, but it's a unique one of a kind card.

Introducing the 2013 Score Leon Sandcastle rookie card done in the glorious 1989 Score design:

If you don't remember anything about this card or the player, leading up to the 2013 NFL Draft, NFL Network's and former NFL Player Deion Sanders made some promo's starting in the commercials for Super Bowl XLVII featuring the fastest and most impressive player of that NFL Draft, Leon Sandcastle. They made it appear as if Sandcastle would be the Chiefs #1 pick that year because "Leon doesn't jump, Leon flies". 

Nobody in that draft could do what Leon could. Actually, taking a look back at that draft now, Leon would have been the obvious number 1 pick because of that poor year.

The promo's were so popular, that Panini decided to make a card of him in the 2013 Prestige (I want this version too) and the 2013 Score products. There were autograph versions as well. I am not sure how tough any of these cards were to pull, but I busted plenty of Score and Prestige and never saw a single one.

Review:2015 Panini Clear Vision Football

An all acetate base product? I had to see this and was fortunate that I was able to.

Before I continue on, I must thank Panini America for the review box and you can look for some of these cards in a future giveaway. Please take a minute out to thank them as well.

Now onto the review.

BOX BREAKDOWN:

In every box of 2015 Panini Clear Vision is 6 packs of 3 cards. You will find either an autograph or jersey card per box and at least one rookie, parallel, insert or hit per pack. Each box runs just under $60.

The packaging is CLEAR where you can see the packs in your VISION.

 

BASE CARDS:
The base cards are all acetate. I think the design is "clear" and nice as well.

There are a couple of subsets within as well such as Sophomore Standouts

And Rookie Revision

Rookie cards match the base design with just a rookie logo.

INSERTS: 
There are five parallels. Blue, Red, Gold, Green , and Purple.This is a blue parallel.You can tell the parallels by the numbering and the color of the lines in the background.

Thick acetate Clarity returns.

 

And probably my favorite card of the box, Clear Shots. These are beauties.Reminds me of the 90's. I would have loved to had seen these as the base set instead.

MEMORABILIA CARDS:
The pics a bit blurry and I am sorry for that, but that's just an acetate window that was hard to capture. There is a decent size swatch. My only fix would have been making the player photo bigger. 

AUTOGRAPHED CARDS:
N/A in this box
Tough pulls only one per inner case. Tons of value if you find one as most are top players.

OVERALL THOUGHTS: 
I like the product. The look is nice but it's definitely not going to be for everyone. The one hit per box  and limited number of cards may scare some away at the $60 price point. But if you were a 90's collector or one who likes acetate, this is up your alley. Big hit thrill seekers, unless you are buying an inner case or case, this probably isn't for you. But, I am not saying don't try it anyways. The design alone to me is worth the risk.
