Saturday's In The 90's: A Classic Shaq

Classic card....see what I did there?

I don't know the odds on these or even if there were any. I just know a card like this needs to be shown off.

Rainbow foil...so so purty

If only the back was as good as the front. It at least gives some good player stats and a solid write up.

This card is limited and numbered if you didn't know and I am proud to be one of the 24,900 owners of such a card.

What's In The Mail Box?

For fun sometimes, I scour the Jammin JDcards site to see if there is something that jumps out at me that I may want to add to my collection. As most of you know, I am a huge rookie card collector. No I am not one to need a one of one or jersey/auto patch rookie kind of person. I just want the simple rookies. Just to say, hey, I have his rookie card and that's what these two new additions are.

2007-2008 Kevin Durant Rookie

1992-1993 Topps Shaquille O'Neal Rookie

I have wanted both a Shaq and Kevin Durant rookie for some time now and am glad I was able to add these to my collection. Shaq was always fun to watch and listen to. Not to mention a Hall Of Famer I would say soon. Kevin Durant is an incredible young talented star who may be this years NBA MVP and possible NBA champion. He has a lot of career left and most likely will be a Hall Of Famer someday. Once again, like I said, two great additions!

If you are looking for something for your collection, I strongly recommend checking out Jammin JDcards first. I would be shocked if they didn't have something you need. You can check out their website HERE. And while you are there don't forget to join in on some box breaks as well! Good Luck hunting and as always comments are welcomed!

Favorite 1990's Basketball Inserts

Welcome to 90's insert weekend here at Sport Card Collectors! Today, we move onto the NBA Inserts. We don't have quite as many as we used to have but found the best we have remaining. Remember, that these cards are not about the player or team on the card. It's all about the card itself.

Take a minute to ponder through these. Try not to drool on your keyboard as you eye gaze through this amazing spectacle.

Beam Team. Stadium club had some bold inserts in the 90's
These always brought the shimmer to Topps packs
Chrome..enough said...refractor at that...
Always been a fan of Upper Deck's holoview use on cards

Dual Sided Card from Skybox..boy miss their cards
The one thing we regret is trading off our 90's basketball inserts about 5 years ago. There was great stuff lost in that trade such as refractors, Michael Jordan's, and even some rookie card inserts that included Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan. In return looking back, we gained very little compared to what they are worth now and what we had gotten in return. We got rid of them becaus we were moving away from basketball cards at that time and trying to condense our collection. NEVER AGAIN will this happen!

90's basketball inserts are market HOT in now-a-day time! The popularity of these types of inserts have gone through the roof as collectors have chased them down in recent years and these have appeared on Beckett's Top 20 Hot List ahead of hot NBA auto/jersey rookie cards for most of the past year. Most popular players from that era for inserts are of Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. Some have sold for incredible amounts. Yes, as I type that I am banging my head on the keyboard thanks for checking in ;)

Let us know your thoughts on our NBA 90's inserts post! Tell us about your 90's basketball inserts as well. Comments are encouraged!

Recent Findings: Our Sport Card Finds

Last week, we were given 2 boxes of random cards from a relative. The boxes contained opened and unopened cards mostly non-sport from a variety of years. We thought we would break down our findings and share them with our fans!!

We are almost to the end of our recent finds segment. One more after this one..and we saved what we believe was the best find for last!

Shaq's Mcdonalds rookie

Alonzo Mourning Rookie

2001 Topps baseball and gallery of cards with it

Tino Martinez Topps Gold Label

The infamous "Fat Toad" Hideki Irabu Topps Gold Label rookie
Really liked the Mcdonalds set find...there was actually 2 of them. The Topps packs were still in there wrappers and opened. We were hoping for a Ichiro find but none was found. There were only four packs also.

What do you guys think?

Card Show Breaks, 99-00 Topps Basketball and 97-97 Collectors Choice Basketball

Along with the great singles I bought..I found some 50 cent packs. Here is a break of 36 packs of Topps Basketball 99-00 and one pack of Collectors Choice 97-98 Basketball.

1 Elton Brand rookie, 1 Richard Hamilton and 2 Ron Artests

Was glad to see a Kobe insert

Here is the Collectors Choice break:

Overall, for 50 cents a pack..not really going to argue. Got some good rookies. A few good inserts. Most likely got my money back.
