Pink Week:Day 6

Collecting Cutch runs a second base filled month of pink cards over on his blog and has recently challenged us bloggers to post pink cards and get comments on said cards. For every post we make that features a pink card, and YOU GUYS comment on, he will donate $1 per comment to Save Second Base.

So I am thinking, the more posts, the more comments, the more I challenge him to donate. So I have grouped six groups of pink cards to show off this week and am CHALLENGING YOU to comment on each post.

I probably had enough pink cards to go the whole month, but, I will cut Cutch a break and just do it for six days.

I will say though, I am not doing this just for Cutch's challenge sake, I am doing this because it hits close to home as well as my mother-in-law had Breast Cancer and I saw all that she had to go through with treatments to clear herself of it. She has now been 5 years clear. I wouldn't wish that upon anyone so the more we can save Second Base, the better.

Here are today's cards,

If you want to make your own private donation please visit the National Breast Cancer Foundation.  There is a donate button on the main page and it only takes a minute of your time.  Every little bit helps.

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY SO BLOW THIS UP WITH COMMENTS AND LET'S SEE THOSE DONATIONS ROLLING IN!!!

Spreading The Awareness

I can't believe we are in November already. Most of the leaves around me have fallen and we have already seen on and off snow. Not much has accumulated yet, fortunately, but there has been enough to alarm me that it's coming. The temps have also went from 80's to barely touching 40's and that's on a warm day. Fall is turning over to winter day by day.

I would have felt like October never existed if it hadn't been for Collecting Cutch blog. Every October he hosts a Breast Cancer Awareness month with posts full of pink cards and pretty ladies displaying what the awareness is all about. I had to check out his posts daily of course.

I appreciate the work that he puts in on the blog for the month to raise awareness for this great cause. My Mother In Law had Breast Cancer a few years ago and luckily survived chemo and radiation treatments. She is doing great today but many don't survive or feel great after. Cancer is a very ugly disease.

For commenting and joining in on his posts, Cutch recently passed along some cards for my support. It to me wasn't even about the cards, it was more about supporting his cause. But, cards are a bonus here.

Like a calling card with any of his packages, he always graciously tosses in some Cutch cards. Surprisingly I didn't have any of these.

He also surprised me with a couple of NY Giants items I didn't have either.

This small set of 2011 Topps NFL Crucial Catch Giants cards. I have never seen these before. Pretty cool. They came in a sealed pack and I plan on keeping them that way.

And then this amazing Odell Beckham Jr featuring a pink towel swatch. Once again, it's the crucial catch campaign. You can also tell this by the Breast Cancer awareness symbol in the corner and the fact that Odell is making a "catch"
Thank you for the prizes Cutch and for your awareness every October.

If you haven't checked out his blog and what I am talking about, go HERE and look at every post in October. You will have a good time.

Collecting Hampton

I found out recently that I was a bonus winner in Collecting Cutch's 200th Home Run for Cutch contest. The prize was going to be some Rodney Hampton needs off of my want list you can find, HERE.

It was only the second time this year I was able to knock some off from that list due to finances. So I was pretty stoked.

I was even more stoked when the mail day arrived as Cutch's selections from my want list were perfect.

Up first, a couple 1997 Pinnacle Certified needs with this Mirror Red

And Certified Red parallels.

The next needs were from 1995 Excalibur which I have a ton of needs from.

Sword And Stone Brozne

22K Silver Prism.

The silvers are numbered to 750. Which doesn't mean diddly today but back then was a lot.

Next up another needed parallel, 22K Prism Gold Both of these cards look so good in person.

The gold is much, much tougher with being numbered to 250.

Crown Royale looked so much better in the 90's than it does today. This is a gold foil parallel. So shiny! I am still missing a few of these as well.

Speaking of shiny, this 1996 Playoff Illusions parallel is downright trippy!

I always enjoyed this Select design and remember busting many packs. However, I was never fortunate enough to pull an Artist Proof so this is a first on two levels for me.

Acetate plus bold design, that's what Pacific Invincible brought to the table. Pacific really put out some good creative stuff. Wished they were still around. This is a blue parallel. I still have others to chase.

1994 UD Collector's Choice Crash The Game Gold winner card. Still lacking a few of these as well.

One of my favorite designed base products in the late 90's 1996 Playoff Trophy Contenders. This was the Playoff Zone insert.

And my final card, which turned out to be a double because a lot of people don't list these correctly, is this 1996 Playoff Contenders Leather. I am okay with this being a double as I was a big fan of cards printed on everything but cardboard. This is actually my third one of these because I bought another one myself that was listed wrong as well.

The one I am looking and missing falls 1:200+ packs and has the words, Accents printed on the back which I think is a lazy parallel.

A HUGE thanks goes out to Collecting Cutch for this amazing mail day. If you haven't checked out his BLOG and his amazing collection of Cutch's, you are missing out. Seriously. Also another thing you are missing out on are his Breast Cancer Awareness posts for October which features....well...you will have to check them out.
If any of you are looking to trade or just wanna mail me a gift, checking out my Rodney Hampton needs is one place to look. Once again, you can locate that, HERE. I always have this up to date just like the rest of my want lists.

Letting It Raine(s)

Recently, Collecting Cutch held a guessing contest on when Cutch would hit his 200th HR. I chose a date too far out to win the main prize, Bob Gibson autograph, but I did win the random for the second place prize for being a pimp.

Well, for pimping his contest.

Here are the winnings from that contest.

Some Yanks for the PC.

A wicked cool pre-rookie Tino Martinez I didn't have. Love it!

The Grandy Man!

Odell. When he is on his A-game still the best WR in the game.

New Andre Williams for that PC.

And the main second place prize, a sharp looking Tim Raines autograph. I didn't have a Raines auto til now.

Of course it wouldn't be a Cutch mail day without a Cutch. I actually don't have this one so I will put that in my player PC pile of him.

A big thanks goes out to Collecting Cutch for the mail day. Much appreciated!

Cutchin' For Some Yanks

Recently, Collecting Cutch held a contest where you had to list off your Top 10 favorite cards of your favorite player. The cards could be anything you wanted and not just hits. I did mine Griffey style.

I didn't end up winning the random for the top prize, but being the generous guy he is, he still handed out prizes to those that didn't win.  I sent him Giants and Yankees as my teams. He didn't have any Giants, so I got some great Yankees instead.

He first of all included one of these with every package he sent. Cool collectible I will stick with my small amount of Andrew McCutchen cards.

Some good Yankees in here including my first 2017 Bunt card. I really like that SI Bernie Williams card.

DJ, Clemens and Dimaggio makes up this group.

Tino. He was one of my favorite Yanks in the 90's. Other than Griffey, I also always chose to be Tino when playing baseball with buddies in the backyard.

Rookies I didn't have...

including one of the hardest throwers in baseball. I just wished more of the Yankees pitching staff had their stuff together. I knew though that was their weak spot going into this season and the last few seasons.

We finish the mail day up with some boom! Derek Jeter 2013 Topps rookie felt manu card. I love this card.

A big thanks goes out to Collecting Cutch and if you haven't checked out his blog yet, you are missing out. His Cutch collection is absolutely amazing.

The Griffey Top10

Like many other bloggers, I am entering the fun contest over at Collecting Cutch in which you have to post your Top 10 cards of your favorite player in a post. This was not easy for me. As many of you know, I have many players with many great cards I collect but in the end it comes down to two that are the biggest of all in Ken Griffey Jr and Rodney Hampton.

In th eend, since this is a baseball contest, I decided to go the route of baseball and show off my Top 10 Griffeys I currently own. I do have more coming up in a few trades, but I only want to do what I have in hand now.

All of these I have posted on here before, but, you may have forgotten about. They also aren't all memorabilia as most of my Griffey's are base/inserts. I did include some key pieces however.

10. I acquired this card from the one and only Junior Junkie because I loved the photo.

9. This photo has always caught my eye. Quite the bubble!!

8. These aren't easy to find, I just like the uniqueness of the item.

7. Speaking of Christmas, these ornaments are really cool. Shiny and die-cut leads the way!

6. One of my favorite pre-rookie minor league cards

5. The Top 5 starts with some Dufex. Such a cool action shot and the dufex really blows it up.

4. Is my only game used baseball card of him

3. Griffey, Yankees, and cool designed stadium seat. Yup. Wrapped all into one card.

2.One of my three autos. But, this was my first one I got in a trade with Project Pedro Blog.

1. How can this not be number 1. I would be crazy not to have it be. Some days I wished I had more than my one copy.

Well, there you have it. My Top 10 Griffey cards currently. Now I pass the challenge onto you. Let's see your Top 10 of your favorite player.

Thoughts on mine are welcomed below!
