1991 song by Salt-N-Pepa was about a much different topic than I am turning it into. You see, I am staying on topic with cards. Not,well, what they were talking about. This newest segment about the 90's will focus on my set chases (the ones I have already used for a Origins Post or don't plan on using) and new additions to them along with updates on how far I have gotten.

It's time for us to sit down and have that discussion between your parents and you that you tried to avoid. You know, that conversation you have with them about the Flairs and the Pinnacles. Kids, it's time to Talk About Sets.

So grab a can of Surge and take a seat in the thinking chair and check these out.

In my trade with Julie from A Cracked Bat: Baseball Cards and a Hot Dog, I was able to knock a few more set needs down. Today, it was 1996 Sp Special Fx.


This is a set I didn't collect as a youngin'. It was the power of the hologram that drew me into wanting to chase down this massive set as an adult. Not to mention, you add in the special Fx micro etch technology you have one great looking card. Nobody knew how to make an insert or a base set even more than Upper Deck.


The hobby needs more Upper Deck.

I never bought any of these when I was younger, but I did land a few from yard sale finds and they caught my attention immediately. It also made me feel like an adult carrying out credit cards.

Of course as an adult you realize how evil credit cards really are and that you would only really want to own these instead.

Julie was able to knock three down for me.

Roberto Alomar who I best remember as an Indian.

Manny Ramirez who I best know as a Red Sox player I hated lol.

And Marquis Grissom who I remember most for being a Brave.

Pieces Of My Future #10:I Cracked The Bat So I Had To Walk The Plank

I enjoy getting expected mail days, but it's those surprise ones that are even better. Recently I was fortunate enough to get a surprise one from Bob Walk The Plank blog. Yup, he is still around and has even posted an updated blog post recently you can find HERE.

I can 't remember how past mail days from Bob Walk went, it had been awhile, but this one definitely brought the heat! Or I should say blue fire!

Eli Manning Orange Prizm. I guess I can settle with Prizm as my favorite Topps Chrome style football product now. I like it more than Optic.

O....please give me a minute to sigh...Dell Beckham Jr wavy Prizm.

Perfect Duos featuring O...trying to hold back tears....Dell Beckham Jr and Eli Manning. Unparalleled always looks cool.

Whoa!! 10/10 gold Sterling Shepard!! Guy just signed a four year extension so I expect him to be the number one for the Gmen now.

O...never mind. This is Odell Beckham Jr. Two great Prizm cards and one great WR who I got to enjoy watching for many years. I will take any of his Giants uniform cards still  any day #respect

Up next, I did my second trade with Julie from A Cracked Bat: Baseball Cards and a Hot Dog which gave me set help for my 90's stuff, I will talk about sets later on...

Anyways, we also did a trade that included these two Yankees autographs. My PC is really weak in the autograph territory for the Yankees. These cards are signed on-card and I really like the design as well.
