Coffee Break:2010 Topps Star Wars The Clone Wars Rise Of The Bounty Hunters Pack Break

I originally wasn't going to do a post today on Star Wars, but being a fan of the original three series, I guess I feel obligated to. Originally, I had planned a Rack Pack break of 2022 WWE Prizm but I pushed that off until tomorrow.

Today, I will let the force stay with me.

In order to do a Star Wars post today and not repeat the same ole cards again, I went digging for something new to post. That's when I remembered that Wes, formally of JBF blog, sent me some random unopened packs.

In the stack, I found two packs of 2010 Topps Star Wars The Clone Wars Rise Of The Bounty Hunters and thought perfect, something new to post. I will break a pack for today.

Even though I have never watched any of the Star Wars cartoon series, it's still Star Wars and I was into it. I also heard these cartoon series especially The Clone Wars were really well done.

*takes a sip before showing off the pack. takes a second to watch the interaction between Luke Skywalker and Jabba The Hut and turns back to the laptop to focus*

In every pack of 2010 Topps Star Wars The Clone Wars Rise Of The Bounty Hunters Packs there are 7 cards. There are also two inserts to chase as well in Clone Wars Foil Character Cards falling 1:3 packs and Motion Cards falling 1:6 packs. So odds could be in my favor.

*takes a sip, begins to rip*

I can't complain about a pack break that pulls the best insert from the product. The animation screen grabs were not too bad for the eyes either.

More Ginter Needs Arrive

Even though a lot of my trades have cut way back this year, mostly due to funding because of new job circumstances, there has been one consistent trader I have had and have posted plenty from. That trader, blog reader, Oren.

We have traded so much this year that I feel we have been trading forever, but it really hasn't been that long.

But, his returns to my blind trade sends are always spot on.

Check out this graded Paul Perkins relic card. This is the first, yes FIRST, graded relic card in my Giants collection.

Next, a stack of Star Wars cards.

And then, I get hit with Ginter. I got hit with so much Allen Ginter I couldn't even post it all, but I did post a few key ones.

Carl Weathers who played Creed in the Rocky movies. This goes great with my Balboa and Hulk ones he already sent from the movie.

I had a 1st Tiger Mask mini, but not base.

Murray Goldberg people!! I don't mind adding more and more of these, still want the autograph and relic card of him as well.

Bobby Moynihan has been on SNL, movies, TV and as a voice actor as well.

FINALLY! one of the cards I wanted most from Ginter, the rookie card of Marc Anthony! If you have more of this card, I NEED TO KNOW ;)

Parks and Rec...I still need to check out that show that features Mr.Scwartz

My second Impractical Jokers card of the four. I now have Murray and Q. Still need to chase down Sal and Joe. I love that show.

MMMB: Always Trading For Non Sports

 

Another mail day post recap? Yup! I am on a roll....well with trying to catch up on these.

My basic PC outline if you are a new reader or follower is, NY Giants, 90's inserts from 1995-1999 any team, sport or player and Non Sports that I mainly seek hits of but will take others as well. Of course there is always a branch outline full of sub-PC's of players and cards I collect but the basic outline is where it hits home the most.

Today is my second, maybe even third trade with new trade partner of 2020 in @CardboardSushi

I must admit once again, I have not seen any of the new Star Wars movies. I have only seen the first 6 which really I only liked the original trilogy of. But, I have been told that the newer movies are pretty good so maybe at some point I will start from 1 and go all the way through in order.

When it comes to cardboard though, whether I have seen the movie, TV show or listen to the music of the person, I still want it. 

Which is why I pulled this latest trade off with @CardboardSushi who had more Star Wars cards for me.

The medallion relics are pretty sharp as well.

But it was the autograph that took the cake in this lot. I don't know what role this character plays in Star Wars but I am digging the signature.

Matt,I Am Your Trader

My search for Christmas related cards has been endless. I have been posting on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, blogs and even on Trading Card Database to help me land some cards from my favorite holiday. I have had some fairly decent success, I actually had higher hopes, but I have landed some solid cards so far.

On Twitter, @Cardboardsushi saw my wants and messaged me that he had some help if I wanted to trade. Since I wasn't going to turn that down I jumped on it and we worked out a deal pretty fast.

Since it is not Christmas season yet, though I am a very early decorator, I am holding off on showing off my return from this trade until then. December 1st kicks off 25 Days of Cardmas on here where the first 25 days of that month will feature Christmas cards. It will be a new yearly tradition so if I don't get to show off all of my new acquisitions this year, I will over time. 

 

Since our trade was more than just some Christmas cards, I will dive into the other part of it.

First up, he passed along a couple of freebie Collins cards.

Both of these I have, but it's always nice to have better shaped ones to replace the ones that may not be as good. The Paydirt card I don't mind owning a ton of. It's one of the Top 15 favorite inserts of the 90's hence the set I built of it.

Also in our trade were some Star Wars cards. I can say I am a fan, but not a die hard one. I really enjoy the first three original movies which turned out to be Episodes 4-6 later on but I haven't seen any of the new stuff Disney has been flowing out. I worry it will ruin those three movies I like for some reason. Maybe some day I will take a chance and actually watch them. I don't have interest however to watch the spinoff ones as I don't care about backstories.

As for you guys, which one Star Wars movie was your favorite and why?

The Voice Of My Childhood

There were too many great shows and cartoons I watched growing up to list on here, but a lot of them had a common theme.

That theme, a man named Jim Cummings.

Jim Cummings is a voice actor who started in career in the mid 80's. He voiced many iconic characters such as Pete from Goofy, Winnie The Pooh, Tigger, Monterey Jack,Don Karnage,Dr. Robotnik,among many, many others in both film and television.

Among all of those characters, one I didn't mention as I was saving it for the main part of this post, was that Jim voiced Darkwing Duck.

DARKWING DUCK. THE TERROR THAT FLAPPED IN THE NIGHT. My childhood hero of sorts.

Recently, I saw a 8x10 Darkwing Duck signed photo by Jim on eBay and really wanted it. The problem I had with it was there wasn't any real certification so I passed. Then I looked up other Darkwing photos and came to see that Jim's autograph wasn't cheap, at least in Darkwing form.

That's when I did a generic search for his autograph and found out he was in Topps Journey To Star Wars:The Last Jedi product and for $10 I couldn't pass it up. It was worth it for the memories alone.

On the cartoon Star Wars, Star Wars Forces of Destiny, Jim voices Hondo Ohnaka.

 

Actual certification that it's real

Jim still does a lot of voices today. Ranging from OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes to
Mickey and the Roadster Racers to Apple & Onion and even a short 4-episode stint on the newer Ducktales reviving his role as Darkwing Duck. 

It's fun knowing a lot of this generation will get to remember Jim voicing a lot of their childhood as well. Maybe not as much as he did when I was younger, but he's still out there and you just never know when his voice will pop up in a movie or cartoon.

Just Before The Holidays

Today, yes I am actually posting a mail day that arrived on the day it did for once, I got two unsuspected packages-well one I partially knew about-just in time for the holidays. Both senders had greeted me with a Merry Christmas in their envelopes so thought I would get this up before Christmas ends.

First up, a surprise of a surprise Christmas mail day from @CrattyPatty25 who I just also pulled off a trade with.

A few Star Wars cards I didn't have. Believe it or not, I haven't seen any of the new movies. I am still stuck on Episode 6. I just fear that I won't like them as my favorite movies are the originals, which turned out to be Episodes 4-6 but anyways that's where I stand with them.

Next up, a partial surprise mail day, he mentioned he had sent me a few things yesterday, from @MetallicarlUCT on Twitter who I met through the giveaway Tweet from @ngtcollectibles awhile back. Really nice guy.

He noticed I had started a Kerry Collins PC started up and passed some along.

 While also tossing in a Rodney Hampton card. I will have to double check on this one.

 Same goes for this set help. I am creeping like a newborn towards this set.
