Blog Bat-Around: 5 Best Pack Pulled Hits (Here's Mine)

Matt, great name by the way, over at Diamond Jesters has sent forth a new Blog Bat-Around challenge.

He posted his best 5 pack pulled cards and wanted other bloggers to do the same.

Having been sponsored by sport card companies, I have opened a lot of products over my time with some nice hits in-between. However, for this challenge, I didn't want to count any of the pulls from the card company packs. Instead, I wanted to share hits from my own personal pack openings...back when I could afford to open them.

Most of the time, my own pack openings were complete duds. But, then there were some nice ones.

Let's take a look,

5. Is this /25 Totally Certified Gold Rookie Autograph of Luke Kuechly who was one heck of a linebacker. He will be one of the names forever known in Panthers history.

4. How could a sweet MJ parallel be number 4? Well, I would call it 1D. It was really hard to pick a top one in this top group.

3.I pulled this Deion/Cam dual auto from Panini Black for Christmas one year. Still the best Christmas pack pull I have ever had.

2. I usually don't like opening up retail Allen&Ginter. It's so boring. But, I still do it just to have some. I got lucky in 2020 with this one. One of my all-time favorite Yankee players.

1.Stallone auto. This is probably my best all-time pack pull including company sent products. It's really hard to top Rocky.

Well, that's my Top 5. There are a couple other pulls I could have put at number 5 but felt Luke had earned his spot. The other top cards were hard to beat.

I still have all of these cards except the Luke. I traded that away for something that fit my PC better. The others won't ever leave my hands.

As Matt put at the end of his post and I will add it to mine, let's see what you guys have pulled. I can't wait to read and see them.

Kerry's Cardboard:Catching Up Gallery

There are so, so many Kerry Collins cards I am behind on and they just keep getting stacked up, so let's just take a look at a bunch of different ones in this post I have added the last few months. I have saved some of the cooler ones for separate Kerry's Cardboard posts.

So let's take a look at a lengthy post of Collins cards.

1995 Finest Kerry Collins. This is by far his coolest rookie card. There are some other great ones, but this one takes the cake.

1996 Scoreboard Touchdown Performers

1997 Totally Certified. Still need the blue and gold. The gold was really expensive for Rodney Hampton so I can only imagine what Collins would be. Them only being numbered to 30 makes it harder.

1995 Playoff Draft Pick

1995 Absolute Rookie Kickoff. Acetate and die cut, yesssssssssss

Pig Pals insert of Collins and Strahan.

1996 Scoreboard Foundations

2009 Donruss Threads

2006 Topps

1996 Skybox Impact

1995 Pacific Crystal I believe

1995 Rookies and Stars silver

2003 Donruss Classics

1997 Pacific Smash Mouth Xtra

1997 Pacific Invincible Pop Ups

1997 Topps Chrome

1995 Pacific Pride Of The NFL

1999 Bowman

Well that does it for this weeks recap. I may do more of these recaps down the road and just post the cool cards as the separate ones. Not that some of these weren't cool and all but some definitely stand out more than others.

Hope you enjoyed another week of Kerry's Cardboard and see ya next time!

Eli Picks:2013 Totally Certified Red

Eli's Picks is a segment where Eli himself, well a stuffed Bleacher Creature version, picks his favorite base/insert cards to show off.

We are back at it again with an all-new Eli Picks!

Today's card comes from Totally Certified. Another one of those great products that came from the 90's that Panini revived. Of course nothing is what it once was.

The product isn't all numbered and doesn't come with the protective film anymore. Of course now there is the "hits" part added which I think hurts more than helps. The one in the 90's was pretty simple but it worked well especially if you were fortunate enough to pull a gold version as only 30 of each were made. Those cards still hold a pretty penny in value even for the non-star players.

Eli chose this card simply because of the nostalgia of Totally Certified and the micro etching technology. Other than it being a red parallel, there isn't anything extra special. It's not numbered and these fell pretty easily per box with at least one parallel per pack.

I picked up this Eli through a trade with 90's Niche Football Card Blog.

REVIEW:2016-2017 Totally Certified Basketball Box 2+GIVEAWAY!

Yesterday I posted my first box break of this product and it was a tough one to swallow.

Was 2 any better, well, read on!

Unlike yesterday's box, I actually pulled a top tier rookie in this box. If not the top. Good start because this was actually out of pack 1.

My parallels were much better than the last box pulling a variety of them. The Capela is /199, the Clarkson is /99 and the Howard is /60. Not to mention this

Camo /25.All look really sharp!

Some inserts including Dirk.

Anytime you pull a Kobe insert, you win.

And the jersey card hits, despite being single color swatches again, this time are Totally Certified Materials and both /99 blue parallels.

And my autograph is of  the 10th overall pick in the 2016 draft by the Milwaukee Bucks and a parallel /99. His auto could use some work.

Overall, I would be lying if I didn't think the second box blew the first one out of the water. I guess it shows the parity of every break. You just don't know which of the two boxes you will land. Well, I usually do. The first one is usually what I get for my own personal breaks. That's simply just my luck.

Now time for the giveaway!

There will be two winners, one will win this

The other will win this,

In order to enter, you must guess the numbering out of /25 for this card
