Trevor Gave These Away!

Trevor over at Bump and Run Football Card Blog recently put up a Pay-It-Forward on his blog and had a decent amount of cards he was giving away.

I knew at the very least I had to scope out the situation just in case something caught my eye, which something did.
First I will show off the three surprise bonus Giants cards he tossed in. Which by the way, if you haven't checked out my Giants card blog that has been going on for years now, FOLLOW it HERE.

Now onto the three cards I claimed. I loved watching The Simpsons growing up, I haven't seen much of it in the last 15 years or so, but hopefully someday I can catch up.

I don't think I had owned a single card of them until I saw these that Trevor was offering up.

These are both cool and nostalgic. Fits perfects in my 90's collection.

Thanks again Trevor for your generosity and the surprise bonuses.

If you haven't checked out his blog, do so. I linked you above for a reason :)

Generosity Around The Holidays

Trevor over at Bump and Run Football Cards Blog has hit me up the last few years with a surprise around Christmas time. I believe he also hit me up earlier this year.

He always sends me Giants or 90's set help which I truly appreciate. The only problem I have is I always misplace his address for a return thank you, even though I know he doesn't ask for one, and everyone who I am in contact with doesn't have it.

Finally this time when he sent his latest mailing, I kept the envelope and made sure I sent a return which I hope you enjoy soon Trevor.

Anyways, that unexpected mail day showed up last week and I am just getting to post it as there are so many mail days coming in as of recent and I am falling behind.

Today, I am posting two together that seem to fit. They both were friendly out of the blue just because it's the holidays kinda mail days. Neither expects anything in return except a thank you. They probably don't even expect that but I am going to give one anyways.

Here is my mail day from Trevor first before I move onto the second one,

Phoenix "refractor" of Odell. I gotta admit I still do miss him and I think he would have paired well with Jones, Barkley, Slayton, Shepard and Engram but it is what it is. And Peppers and draft picks Giants got in return have played well.

Set help for my Same Game More Attitude chase. I gotta update all of the numbers now with these additions and a few others.

Herman Moore TD Kings

1995 Pinnacle base set help

Dan Marino is an Award Winner! What ever happened to great looking cards like this.

Pro Bowl die cut. Love these! Still have a ways to go on the set however.

Hakeem Nicks sticker. I actually didn't have this

Thanks Trevor once again for the mail day! Much appreciated!

Up next, my buddy Turk on Twitter said he found something while searching his 2013 cards and said it fit with me more...and he was right!

Topps Prime....those were the days...

Ryan Nassib....

Woooooooo. That's sure purty!

autographed booklet with a swatch of football, not sure what the pink swatch is maybe a towel for Breast Cancer awareness?

And the other side with a jersey swatch, maybe a sock or ugly sweater and then a glove. Pretty slick!! Card is numbered 10/15.

Big thanks to Turk for this card and for your generosity!

I did a few generous mail days myself to a few unsuspected individuals including multiple bloggers who may not have seen a mail day from me in awhile. Well, now you will.

There is nothing better than spreading the love this time of year!

Pieces Of My Future #13:Got Some Finally!

After the NFL Draft, I was in a flurry trying to get some cards of the Giants first round QB Daniel Jones as I didn't have any. I was and have been also trying to land a Jones autograph via trade but I have had zero takers. It was the same amount of takers I had on this blog for my PWE section so I pulled it.

My buddy @Brent3323 came to the rescue with my first cards of the Giants QB and even sent along some other friends with him. Dudes so nice and generous.

Check out what he sent also!

Daniel Jones! I gotta update my Giants numbers with my first two! (if you have any send 'em my way!)

Also sent the third Giants first round grab in Baker. They have been needing another lockdown corner and I was completely on board with this.

 Numbered Nassibs

Steve Smith numbered. I wished he could had stayed more healthy. Still a Super Bowl hero in my mind.

Jennings numbered

A new Eli! He continues to be my second biggest Giants collection.

Evan Engram living in the shadows of Jeremy Shockey still. He shows flashes but has to be more consistent especially next year when they will need him.

 Shiny Select!

Lorenzo Carter numbered parallel. I really need his autograph still.

Another David Wilson hit for that PC

 A new Andre Williams

And a Wayne Gallman autograph to end. I kind of wonder how much longer he will be a Giant with their recent signing of Rod Smith from Dallas to possibly back up Saquon. Maybe he makes them have a three headed monster who knows.

Thanks again to Brent for his generosity again. I have been putting a nice stack aside for you that I hope to get out at some point.

Hoarding Giants

Hi. My name is Matt and I am a hoarder.

If I hadn't seen someone else take the title Hoarding Cardboard for their blog that may have been the title winner for the name replacement of Sport Card Collectors. The only difference is I hoard cardboard and many other things as well. Especially anything I can find that will make me feel nostalgic.

Just the other day I came across a couple of those items I had hoarded away since sixth grade. I was always a teachers pet in school and sometimes got rewarded for being just that. I always helped out others in the classroom, helped the teacher carry things or run errands for them to other grades voluntarily.  My sixth grade teacher especially appreciated that and would treat me different sometimes. One day we needed Popsicle sticks for the class so she bought a box of chocolate Popsicles that needed to be eaten to use the sticks. Guess who got to eat them all...Yup, this guy. She also bought me a small Christmas gift one year which I still have after all of these years. To no ones surprise it has to do with the New York Giants,
It was a pin, I don't think anyone wears those anymore, and a notepad that I never have used on purpose. It's a collectible! It's not in as mint condition as it was 20+ years ago but still not bad for something I had hoarded away.

It seems that hoarding+NY Giants are a common thing for me as I have been hoarding their cardboard for years.

It helps me hoard when great people like @JGfan24ever is always sending me stuff. Sometimes he will tell me what it is while other times it turns out to be a surprise. But, about 90% of the time I know when I see mail from him, it's NY Giants.

Here is one of his most recent PWE mailings.

A few base,

A wicked cool Donruss Optic multi-color parallel of future Giants QB Davis Webb. I still have a gut feeling they don't draft a QB this year and they move down in the draft. They could possibly trade with Buffalo and get their first next year which could lead to a draft of a QB cause I expect Buffalo to have a high pick next year.

Also a teal+Giants blue Evan Engram parallel. I love the photo on this one. Could use a good caption and the best one I have is "don't mess with me". Many defenses learned that last year and I think that's just a small glimpse of what will come from him in 2018 once the Giants are fully assembled.

And finally a Ryan Nassib relic. Even though he isn't a Giant anymore, I will still take em.

A thanks goes out to Michael again for his generosity as always. Hopefully I can send a surprise back soon.

5 Card Hand

So we continue my trade recap with 90's Niche Football Card blog for Day 5 and this time we group together some new relics and autographs.

Up first, the two Giants QB's currently on the roster. I am still not sure how well Nassib will turn out. The Eli is a die cut. Still don't much memorabilia cards of him so it's nice to add one here and there.

A new Adams auto, man I hope this guy pans out, and another Michael Cox auto. He was decent for them. I like the card because it's also very shiny.

Speaking of shiny, another one here from Spectra. This time an autograph of 2016 1st round pick Eli Apple. My 3rd Apple auto.

Another solid showing in Day 5 and still plenty more to go.

Epic Trade Mail Day From Project Pedro Part 3: The Giants Touchdown

Part 3 and the finale of my mail day is broken down into four parts with three sub-parts. Yes, four. Today I will kick it off with these Giants and then turn it to Giants player focus tomorrow for parts 3A,3B and 3C to cover all 38+ autograph and memorabilia cards. I will publish all three sub-parts tomorrow so pay attention and don't miss out because there is some really cool stuff.

First up, is my very first YA Tittle memorabilia card. I find actual legend worn material much more exciting than the rookie premier worn items. (you will see this Greg Jones twice but I only got one. It was the only way I could take this picture without a reflection)

No that isn't Odell, that's Ramses Barden. The guy never turned out as they expected. I was hoping he would had been the next Plaxico with his height but never panned that way.

Some great autographs here. My second Nicks rookie auto, my second best Contenders auto in Mario Manningham and the Giants future in Moore and Nassib.

To end this part, some sweet swatches especially in the Nicks and Bradshaw. I really like the Andre Brown auto-patch as well. Really wished he could have done a bit more and kept playing.

This is just the kickoff to the New York Giants portion of this trade. Plenty of greatness to come and no better way to show it off than to show it off on Game Day.

Trade Mail Day From @skunkman1998

Recently I have pulled off some great trades online, not something I ever expected to do as it's hard to trust many collectors in today's age of collecting, but I have found myself with a small circle I will trade with. One of those people is my buddy Tim, @skunkman1998, who I have known probably the longest online just through the same sites we have visited.

So having known Tim this long, I know that every time I come across a Broncos or Volunteers card that I need to save it for him. So I did and mailed them out to him. He knows if he finds any 90's inserts, NY Giants or NY Yankees that I would be interested. It works out great.

So today's mail day came to no surprise what I would find inside. Except this time Tim had thrown in a couple of bonus goodies.

First bonus goody, is this pack of Upper Deck Gridiron Fantasy Football Game. I haven't opened it yet as I am saving it for a future Breakin Wax segment.

Same can be said for this Topps Big Baseball pack.

Shiny stuff makes an appearance with a Bryce Harper Bowman insert and a Oscar Taveras Orange Topps Chrome rookie refractor.

Some new Yankee pickups including 2 Tanaka Rookies, guy dominated Toronto today and 2 new Derek Jeters.

Up next, some NY Giants love! Rueben Randles, Eli orange refractor and my man Rodney Hampton!

A couple of pure beauties right here! LT and Andre Woodson. These two cards are even more fantastic in person!

Odell "One-Hand" Beckahm Jr! I don't have any of these!

A sweet Ryan Nassib Topps Chrome refractor jersey card that is numbered to 16. This pads my Nassib collection a bit more.

And to end it, a really nice Rueben Randle autographed memorabilia card! I should put together numbers on my Randle PC. I am a bit worried about him this season with the recently announced knee tendinitis.
A really solid mail day all around and a huge thanks goes out to Tim for it.

I have already begun setting some more stuff aside for you and look forward to our next trade.

As always, thoughts on my mail day are always welcomed!
