NYG PC Spotlight 80:2016 Panini Prizm Silver Prizm Jerell Adams

Jerell Adams

Panini Prizm Parallel

Card Number 237

Exiting Area 40

During Wes' retirement tour-formerly blogger of Jay Barker Fan blog and now runs a last big hurrah blog in Area 40-he has been unloading packages onto bloggers for goodbye gifts.

Well, here we are. After this long journey we have come to the finale from this box of goods from Wes, the most generous collector around and great friend. Someone I am glad I stumbled upon.

Let's take a look at what was actually the first things I found in the box

Peyton Manning. This Ionix set looked spectacular.

Natrone Means. Like I said before, this guy was completely underrated.

This was a good call by Bowman's Best. He was defintely a Best Bet even his time in Cleveland. Cool card and die cut.

Great draft pick by the Raiders. Yes, heavy sarcasm. I wasn't sure if the Raiders got their star or not at the time but made sure I grabbed a few rookies ahead of time. Now they just sit in a binder worth more than them.

Put this guy in the Hall Of Fame already!!

MJ agrees with me.

Cool Peter Warrick card. I haven't had the time to see if this is set help yet or not. Ex put out a really nice product from base to inserts to parallels.

DRC. I appreciated his time in NY and wished the Giants would bring him back. I think he would be a big help still.

Up next...some big time PC cards. These were the first cards I discovered in the  box before I got to dig into the rest. What a way to kick off the box and end the series of posts.

Rueben Randle 2 color autograph swatch. Nice looking card for my PC I didn't have.

New Sterling Shepard autograph as well. I expect this guy to be even better this year.

CRUUUUUUUUUUUZZ. This marks my third Victor autograph but this one is the prettiest of the three.

And finally, some epicness. My first ever NFL logo swatch. It's not a full one, but it's a piece of one. That's something I definitely didn't have. Next goal is a full logo swatch. But this card overall is a beaut with the cracked ice look as well.

Thank you seems like an understatement here to Wes but other than being completely left speechless that's all I have to offer. I also believe Wes had mentioned this wasn't the end of this mailing. I can't imagine what else he is going to throw my way.

Thanks again Wes for this and for everything you do for the hobby and your hobby friends. Not just with cards either, but the friendships and the friendship we have built. It's all appreciated and we will miss your blog. At least we still have Area 40 to visit for now and the past memories of JBF and the time we can talk on Twitter.

Helping Another Collectors Set Needs

When I saw I Feel Like A Collector Again blog post some set needs for 2017 Gypsy Queen baseball, I immediately jumped on the challenge of trying to find him some help for it. I really liked this years design, but decided I wouldn't chase a set myself. I would like the Judge and Griffey Jr base from it however.

I was quite shocked that I had 120 cards he needed for his set, so I approached him about a trade which he happily accepted. In return, I got a nice mix of Gmen for the PC. None of which I had.

The first card I got is pretty cool and surprisingly something I hadn't seen before, a Sean Landeta Ditka's Picks playing card. I love adding oddities like this.

Up next, Jennings prizm parallel from Select and a new Eli Apple from Unparalleled. I expect big things from him next season.

A new shiny Odell.

And my very first Jesse Palmer autograph. I have a few memorabilia cards, but no auto. So a nice PC add.

and finally a card I have been eyeballing for some time since he rack pack pulled it and was hoping to get, a 2016 Prizm red/white/blue auto of Adams. A super shiny add!

A big thanks goes out to I Feel Like A Collector Again for the awesome trade. If I come across anymore needs for Gypsy Queen I will make sure to contact you.

If you guys haven't added him to your blogrolls yet or checked out his blog, just go HERE and add it. Above in my first paragraph, I also included the link to his 2017 Gypsy Queen needs so if you can help, just contact him!Up to this point, I was the lone one to do so. He has many more needs!

Insert Cards Here Please

So we continue my trade recap with 90's Niche Football Card blog today with some NY Giants inserts with many numbered ones.

Some nice additions here including Paul Perkins and the infamous Ron Dayne who at the time I was excited the Giants drafted til he actually hit the field for them.

Eli Manning inserts. Rookie insert top left, Topps Tek parallel and a slick Donruss inserts.

Up next, gotta do the salsa to these inserts and parallels. Cruz has made some big plays when they are needed but also some drops. I sadly don't see him being on the team next year as Sterling Shepard continues to grow and the development of Roger Lewis Jr.

Odell! Some new Beckham's for my PC. This guy continues to be one of the leagues best.I really like the Prizm insert for design and shinyness.

We finish this up with a /10 Adams insert. I am glad he is finally getting a chance to be on the field.

Day 2 is over. We will take a break from the Giants tomorrow and show off a few Yankee cards instead and then will pick up more steam on the Giants after that.

A Successful Trade Mail Day From @JGfan24ever

Well, it took some back and forth last week between @JGfan24ever and myself on Twitter, but we ended up, as I expected, coming to terms on a trade that sent a 1/1 PC need to him and me bringing home some goodies as well.

First, here are some freebies he threw in with the trade. A new Adams rookie for me (hoping he continues to get more play time), numbered Strahan and a new Odell rookie.

My first card in the trade is this 2012 Prominence Rueben Randle helmet auto card. Pretty sick card and it adds to my Randle count to 106.

Up next, you know I like shiny stuff, rookies and NY Giants. Well, here ya go

And finally, from The Hobbit, a new celeb auto for that PC. Aidan Turner who played the Dwarf in the trilogy.

I am glad we were able to work out this trade and really glad the USPS system didn't mess with us like last time.I look forward to trading with him again and if you don't follow him on Twitter you should. Great trader, friend and does giveaways as well.
