The Autograph Finale!

We have finally reached the finale of my trade with @Jake1725 and even with all of the greatness before this part, today's is the boom.

We start it off with a tougher Shaq insert from the 90's. I think it was 1:36 packs but from some searches I don't see many around.

Three football rookie autographs I always wanted from the 90's. These are all hand numbered to 1050 and consist of James Stewart, Michael Westbrook, and Joey Galloway. They are also all signed on-card.

These two I added just for the fun of prospecting. Not sure if Pinder or Taylor will ever really pan out but at least I have an autograph of theirs before they do.

This guy has hit well for years and I have always wanted to at least get an autograph of him, I don't feel sometimes Paul Goldshmidt always gets the respect he has earned. That's probably because he plays for the D-backs. If he was in NY....

The next autograph was an in-person one that Jake was happy to get for me and wait in line for. Bregman is close to being a break out star. This was the only way I was getting his autograph.

Nice blue ink on-card. @Jake1725 also chose a solid card to get signed.

George Springer has hit, hit, hit this year. Could be an MVP. I really wanted his autograph so I added this one /25

and then on top of it, added a rookie autograph as well.

Overall I am very happy with the trade we made. I added a ton of great cards for many PC parts and not to mention some stinkin' awesome TMNT toys.

Thanks @Jake1725 for the trade and all of the bonus surprises! I look forward to our next trade already after this whopper.

If you don't know @Jake1725, he runs the Inception Baseball: A Very Simple Idea blog. Go check it out and see his exciting Inception autograph project over many years and maybe you have something that can help him with it. Not to mention, add him to your blogrolls. Great guy and trader.

Project Pedro Trade Recap Part 13:Newton's Law, Gotta Own A RC Auto

October has officially been named, Cards I Got From Project Pedro Blog Month.

By now, you have seen quite the gallery, but you are probably wondering where the BAM went after I kicked off this series with a huge card and mentioned there was more to come.

Well, I thought I would post another as I am saving the best card for last.

You know what rights with Bam right, yes CAM!

Last years NFL MVP and a guy who helped lead the Panthers to Super Bowl 50, now makes his new home in my rookie autograph collection.

It's my first rookie auto of his and I think the card looks really nice with the clean crystal-clear photography. I am just hoping he continues to lead the Panthers and continues to play well and not flop now (as I am sure we all hope with any rookie auto we pull or trade for) that I own this. This year isn't looking good so far as his offensive line forgot how to protect him.

Have you ever traded for a rookie auto with a good value then the player flopped along with the value? Who was it? Let me know, and try not to scare me, in comments!

Nuttin But The Hits:2016 Score Football Jumbo 2-Packs

One thing you may not have realized, since it seems I am always around, a few weeks ago I was on vacation for a few days. It's the one time a year I get to relax and get to visit an LCS where I have become pretty good friends with the owners.

The first day of my stay, I went in and picked up two jumbo packs of 2016 Score football as I was dying to try some. I think these two packs went pretty successful I must say.

In every jumbo pack of 2016 Score, there are 40 cards that are broken down into veterans, inserts, possible hit and rookies. To me, the packs are like digging for treasure and I enjoy every second of doing so.

My key rookies from the two packs are these two. My first Shepard rookie card.

I pulled this /35 insert.

And this numbered to 99 one. Beautiful looking parallels. It seems they took the theme of Hot Rookies and combined it with Score making one amazing symphony.

I was even fortunate enough to pull an autograph. This is an Artist Proof auto /35.

Not a bad two Jumbo packs I will say. $20 well spent. This wasn't my only trip in the shop. I will say though with so many expenses this year I wasn't able to nearly buy as much as I usually do. My purchases overall this year are way down as other important things have come first. I was actually even lucky enough to get this trip and had to raise the credit card debt to make a couple hobby purchases which part 2 of comes in a couple of days. Stay tuned!

Review:2015 Panini Prizm Draft Picks Football

Panini's second CLC release comes in the form of another Panini favorite of mine, Prizm. To me, Prizm has tied Topps Chrome. Never thought any product would do that. But, I love the parallels that Prizm presents as they are both creative and shiny.

How did Draft Picks stack up, well, you know what to do....READ ON!

BOX BREAKDOWN:
In every box of 2015 Prizm Draft Picks football, you will find 12 packs per box with 5 cards per pack. You will also find two autographs, 24 Draft Picks, four Prizms, one Stained Glass insert and three additional inserts.A nice layout without being overdone as finding the Prizm parallels and inserts may help drive up their values a bit. Box prices are nice running mostly around $55 a box.

BASE CARDS:
The design is simple. Chromed cards with a player in the forefront all done in their college uni's. There are 250 cards in the base set with 100 of those being veterans.....
250 card base set including 100 current NFL players in their Alma Mater uniforms & 150 Draft Picks - See more at: http://www.dacardworld.com/sports-cards/2015-panini-prizm-collegiate-draft-picks-football-hobby-box#sthash.W6Nwxa3H.dpuf

and 150 of them being rookies/draft picks such as this Mariota. He was actually the top find in my box with only a couple rookies per pack and 24/150 per box.

INSERT CARDS:
My box was pretty good in terms of getting Prizm parallels. I got 7 total. You can look for the following lineup of Prizms:
  • Prizms
  • Red Power Prizms
  • Camo Prizms #/199
  • Purple Flash Prizms #/99
  • Blue Prizms #/75
  • Tie-Dyed Prizms #/49
  • Red, White and Blue Mojo Prizms #/25
  • Gold Prizms #/10
  • Green Prizms #/5
  • Orange Prizms #/5
  • Black Finite Prizms 1/1
I found 5 regular Prizms and one blue and one Camo in my box.

The other inserts just look cool! They are well designed and the Prizm shine makes them look even more outstanding. However, I would have liked to have seen these as regular cards first and have a Prizm parallel to. Not just straight up Prizms for all. Seems to make more sense but none-the-less they look really nice. Of course that may be the 90's collector in me coming out as well.

Here is a defensive die cut insert. Literally d and a fence. Very cool.

JAMEIS!

JAMEIS AGAIN! I totally dig this design! Die Cuts look even more impressive.

And my favorite design of them all....WICKED NICE (in a Boston accent) Stained Glass insert. These are stunning and even more so in person.

MEMORABILIA CARDS: N.A Don't think this product needs them. Already enough content to keep most of us happy.

AUTOGRAPHED CARDS:
Seems the autographed cards in Prizm are Prizms. My box was a weak one in terms of players as I got Cody Prewitt and for the second straight draft picks product Mike Davis. Starting to wonder if he is the Michael Egnew of this class. At least the Davis is a camo parallel.

I do like the design though.

OVERALL THOUGHTS:
My box was weak, but with some very tough parallel pulls to be had and a nice price point, I can't see why you wouldn't bust one of these just for fun. I am not really much of a college card collector but these attracted me right away.

I recommend brushing off my weak box and giving one a try yourself especially if you are a fan of shiny things. It truly can't hurt.

Rueben Randle PC Card Of The Week: 2012 Panini Black Rookie Patch Auto

This 2012 Randle Panini Black is my favorite Randle card I own.The dark card against the blue of the Giants, the bright red patch and gold signature just draws your eyes in.

Try not to do what I do and drool on the keyboard as you check this card out.....

What's In The Mail Box?

On Facebook a couple of weeks ago, the Bowman football page gave away three autographs a day for the entire week. To enter, all you had to do was state which NFL team is most likely to be upset in Week 1. I was lucky to have been chosen as one of those winners.

The fun thing about this contest was that they didn't tell you which autograph you would be getting other than the fact it would be a Bowman Football auto. I liked the mystery aspect of it because you just didn't know who would arrive from this deep class.

Well, the mystery didn't last too long as this arrived a day after giving them my address:

Wasn't quite one of the top players in the draft, but you never know about these late round guys. However, with the announcement of Andy Dalton getting signed long term, it really makes you question this guys future unless he is traded. Either way, this will fit nicely into my rookie auto PC.

I must also note that I liked the look of these more than I thought I would. The base rookie cards for Bowman looked so cheesy but with the added chrome finish, refractor look and on-card autograph, this card is pretty stunning in person.
