SI For Kids Cards November 2017

Here is my 12th installment of this series.

I have been collecting SI For Kids cards for year and thought I would share them with you and help you decide if you should pick up the latest issue of SI For Kids for yourself.

Sorry I missed the October version but it didn't really have the normal cards in them. It was an oddball thing that wasn't really worth showing.


Once again I found myself looking for Aaron Judge but came up empty on the card end anyways. How do they not have him in here yet?!?!

This month still pretty solid without Judge. Kareem Hunt who wasn't a household name at first and now has definitely made a name for himself. Other big names like Stanton and Laine find themselves on here as well.

 

Maybe in December , as a Christmas gift, we will find ourselves a Judge card.

SI For Kids Cards September 2017

Here is my eleventh installment of this series.

I have been collecting SI For Kids cards for year and thought I would share them with you and help you decide if you should pick up the latest issue of SI For Kids for yourself.

Once again I found myself looking for Aaron Judge but came up empty on the card end anyways. However, his ROY counterpart Bellinger was found in here. This marked my first rookie card of his. There were also Oilers star Connor McDavid, Buc's WR star Mike Evans and a few other sport adds. Pretty solid month in my opinion.

 

Earlier I noted how I came up empty on Judge in the card end, but I didn't come up completely Judge-less. This poster in the middle was a nice touch.

 

Maybe in October we will find ourselves a Judge card just like we will find the Yankees in October.

SI For Kids Cards August 2017

Here is my tenth installment of this series.

I have been collecting SI For Kids cards for year and thought I would share them with you and help you decide if you should pick up the latest issue of SI For Kids for yourself.

I was pretty excited to find a rookie of Penguins stud Jake Guentzel, my first of his. Myles Garrett is the 1st overall pick and superstar Ronaldo rounds out a pretty solid August. I did notice something a big odd with this months cards or at least mine, they are miscut as the left edge is very skinny.

Will that add or take away value or not touch it? Only time can tell.

 

 

So I think this isn't a bad issue to pick up. I still keep waiting for them to do an Aaron Judge card, maybe for September. I am still surprised one hasn't been done yet.

SI For Kids Cards July 2017

Here is my ninth installment of this series.

I have been collecting SI For Kids cards for year and thought I would share them with you and help you decide if you should pick up the latest issue of SI For Kids for yourself.

This month offers a good variety of sports. For me, there is a couple of big names that stand out in McDavid and Green. The prospector in me sees the Mayfield as a possible future valuable card so that's a good one.

 

 

So I think this isn't a bad issue to pick up. I still keep waiting for them to do an Aaron Judge card, maybe for August. I am still surprised one hasn't been done yet.

SI For Kids Cards June 2017

Here is my eighth installment of this series.

I have been collecting SI For Kids cards for year and thought I would share them with you and help you decide if you should pick up the latest issue of SI For Kids for yourself.

This months issue was one I would def want with Odell Beckham Jr as the lead card of the group. But, there are other solid names in here as well like Nolan Arenado and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

 

 

So I think this isn't a bad issue to pick up. I keep waiting for them to do an Aaron Judge card, maybe for July.

SI For Kids Cards May 2017

Here is my seventh installment of this series.

I have been collecting SI For Kids cards for year and thought I would share them with you and help you decide if you should pick up the latest issue of SI For Kids for yourself.

This months issue comes with a good variety of sports and athletes. Not a ton of big names, but Mike Trout is a nice centerpiece. One on here that means the most to me is the Shiffrin who is a hometown hero and probably the only local celebrity known where I live. She has dominated skiing for years.

SI For Kids Cards March 2017

I can't believe I almost forgot to post this months cards from the latest issue of SI For Kids.

So here they are for March.

You have Bears rookie runner Jordan Howard who put up some impressive numbers on a very sad Bears team. Kevin Durant who wanted to get paid and win Championships. Michael Fulmer card from the Tigers. A future NFL Draft Pick in Sam Darnold. A Seth Jones who plays for a pretty impressive Blue Jackets team and a few oddball sports.

Nothing too big to find this month, but still collectible in my eyes.

This months issue comes with a very important and my first Auston Matthews rookie as the headliner. There are other pro athletes as well and other ones you gotta keep an eye out on in the future.

This months, we have a bit weaker of an issue with Kris Bryant being the headliner here, but I think owning cards from these other sports including golf that doesn't have cards on the market right now is huge. I still have my rookies from these guys you can see here, (Hottest Golf Cards Right Now)

SI For Kids Cards November 2016

Well, as you may or may not know, I subscribe to SI For Kids. Not so much for the articles even though they are fun sometimes, but for the cards. Yes, when you like cards as much as I do, you find many ways to collect. Oddballs that you find in SI For Kids can sometimes be quite valuable as well and I have a stack of at least the last 5 years of them including some hot Golf rookies.

So I thought as a new segment, one of many to come among changes, I would showcase my cards for the month and make a note about any that stand out.

November's is pretty stacked I think. You have Gary Sanchez rookie, possibly the last Larry Fitzgerald SI For Kids card with his retirement soon and the possible Heisman and future Cleveland Brown, Lamar Jackson who has been a nightmare for any defense this season.

If you haven't ever thought about buying an issue before for the cards, I think this month would be a great start.

SI For Kids Cards

I don't know how all of you feel about these, but these cards are very collectible. If you go to ebay, you can come across a ton of these for sale. Especially the "rookie ones" of players that haven't played yet.

Andrew Luck's going for around $20

This has been a fad I believe since the 1996 Tiger Woods one. That one is still selling for an amazing amount. I found one on ebay going for $200! This is a magazine you can easily find and buy for either $5 or a subscription for $25 a year.

The one I believe started it all!

Full uncut sheets like this one that has a Tim Tebow "rookie" on it can go for $20 or more dollars as well

To be honest, I actually have a subscription to this magazine because of the cards. The reading isn't bad either and SI's photography is always nice to see even in a kids sports magazine, but the cards for me was the main draw. I would consider my 3 year collection in perfect mint condition. The card sheets are still in their magazines. Do I put a value on them? Probably not. But being the collector I am, everything is a collectible. Guess you can call me a Hoarder to some extent. But that's the kind of hoarding I like.
