$25 A Week Challenge Week 15:Mix Of Things

This is the first $25 A Week Challenge in some time as I had to put a delay on this segment. With my wife's gifts bought and myself finally focused on finishing up some projects, I didn't really have time or patience to dilly dally into other stuff instead.

I am not sure how often posts from this series will appear anymore due to the fact I am focused on accomplishing some things, but they will appear whenever I have them ready to.

So for today, this is an undercut version of the segment as I didn't come close to spending $25 but at least there is some cool stuff to see.
Like this Daniel Jones Rookie Wave. I really loved the design on this so I had to make sure I locked up a Jones. Especially since it was only $1.26 and .99

Okay, so I loved these Holiday Match Up cards. I landed the Kerry Collins one awhile back and since then always on the lookout for more. When I saw these three up for auction for $1, I jumped and was the ONLY BIDDER. I won all three for $1 plus .75 shipping. That's crazy.

While I was bidding away on RJ Barrett cards and lots, I found this lot that had Barrett in it along with some other Knicks. Price, well, $3.99 plus $3.49 shipping. I couldn't say no.
Ewing, one of my favorite Knicks all time green Prizm

Dennis Smith Jr Optic rookie

Ewing Jersey card!! Love it!

And this guy lol.

Pretty solid lot overall. I already showed the Barretts in my RJ posts.

Up next and final, 2 1998 UD3 packs. I will be busting one of these two packs to show off the contents on here at some point.
Grabbed these two packs with a shot at getting a Peyton Manning for $3 plus $3.99 shipping.

This weeks grand total, $18.47. So under the $25 mark but some great pickups.

So now I pass this onto you, what would have you spent $25 on this week.

$25 A Week Challenge Week 14:Not Much To Show

Well, this weeks edition doesn't have a lot to show in terms of cards.

There is a reason for this, my wife's birthday is coming up on the 15th and I needed to make sure I had something for her. You know, not be selfish (especially when my birthday is four days after hers), so I wasn't and used up some leftovers from past funds and some from this one.

So this weeks funds were not as much but I was still able to snag a couple decent deals.

I haven't had the time or space on the blogging calendar to come up with a post on this but I am currently collecting the 2019 Optic football set. I am roughly 30 cards away from completion and this is the first new age set I have tried to collect in 6 years as I don't care about modern day set collecting much. But, since I picked up a ton of Optic, I figured, hey why not.

I had a lot of the big guns left to pick up for the set including Daniel Jones (was in last weeks $25 a week), Dwayne Haskins, Kyler Murray, Drew Lock and Josh Jacobs.

This week, I was able to knock a couple of those names down.

First up, Dwayne Haskins.

that came paired with Hunter Renfrow for $3 plus $2.99 shipping. Which can't go wrong with a Haskins for $1.50 when you break it down looking at his single prices.

Then came the Kyler Murray. Usually going for about $10+ but the fact that this one was off-centered, I managed to land it for $3.25 plus $4 shipping. Who gives a hoot that the player is off from his silhouette some? I don't.

My biggest worry was how the seller shipped the card. NO TOPLOADER. For the $4 shipping I was hoping for at least a Toploader. I know he was thinking it was safe between two pieces of cardboard but not when someone is trying to break into it to get the card out. So I did my best Tom Cruise and Mission Impossibled the  packaging and got Murray out safely.

This weeks total, $13.24

I am now a bit closer to my set , so even though I didn't get much this week, I was still happy with my overall finds including my gift.

$25 A Week Challenge Week 11:Gotta Wear My Shades

I wear my sunglasses on cards......So I Ken...So I Ken...keep track of myself in my eyes....

Sorry, Corey Hart came to name when I saw this Ken Griffey Jr 1997 Pinnacle Shades pop up. It was one of those cards I had wanted for awhile and finally made the decision just to grab it.

Especially since I landed it for only $4

I have been really addicted to these 1997 Collectors Edge Game Balls after grabbing two Kerry Collins ones for cheap. I especially like the Playoff ones as 1996 had some great games that I still remember to this day.

One of those games was in 1996 between Jacksonville who barely snuck in as the 5th seed taking on the mighty Bronocs. The Jags had just upset the Bills the week before and went on the road to face the Broncos who looked unbeatable. Problem was, it was just a look. Jags took a ten point fourth quarter lead and held on to win 30-27 which coincidentally was the same score of the Bills game. However, a week later they lost to the hated Patriots 20-6. Guess you can't win them all. But, being a big Jags fan, once again my second team, back then it was memorable to see those two victories.

So when I can grab this relic for $6+$1 shipping without a doubt it was worth it just for the memories alone.

When I have a NY Giants autograph need, I grab it. And so I did for only $4 and free shipping. Kaden looks to have secured a spot on this roster for next year or at least I hope so. He can block in the run game, make the tough catches in traffic and reminds me of another Greg Kittle. This guy could be big next season. He almost had 100 yards in the Giants finale vs the Eagles.

To me, the Giants wouldn't have made their Super Bowl run without Plaxico. He was the one guy Eli relied upon and nobody could stop that combo. The Giants won Super Bowl 42 because of Plax who played the entire playoffs hurt but helped lead them anyways. Not to mention caught the game winning TD in the Super Bowl. The Giants were blowing away opponents the following year as well up until Plax's shooting himself incident. Giants fell after that. But, a Super Bowl I won't ever forget combined with his game winning touchdown and talent he had when he played, I couldn't go wrong for $6.95 plus free shipping.

I showed off a souvenir stamp of Darkwing Duck before on here, so for $1.50 and free shipping, it was a no-brainer that I grab two more.

$1.50

$1.50

This weeks total was close at $24.95 but once again I was good and stayed under budget.

Some pretty cool PC adds this week which is what I like.

So now I gotta know, what would you have picked up this week for $25?

$25 A Week Challenge Week 10:TD Salute!

Can't believe this is the 10th post in this series already. That's crazy!

So far this series has had mixed reviews in terms of views and comments so not sure how much longer I will continue with it, but for now I still have some cool things to share so who knows.

Today, I had to make the 10th one, a special one with a nice round number and boy did I find a great card to do it with.

I think I got a big time steal on this one.
1999 Playoff Prestige Terrell Davis Salute autograph!

Card is numbered to 150 which is not much for those times.

The other crazy part, nobody bid against me. A Two-Time Super Bowl winning, record breaking, Hall Of Fame, rare card running back for $15.99+$3.50 shipping.

How could one not one to pull the trigger?!?

Next up, I snagged another pretty good deal when once again nobody bid against me on it.

1997 Scoreboard Gems Of The Game Terrell Davis for $2.00+$1.50 shipping. Not too shabby at all! This makes my second one of him however so one I will dangle to a Bronco trader buddy of mine. The first one I paid $7 for. I really want to build this set, but that's an adventure way down the road. For now I would just like to add the Kerry Collins one for my PC. There is only one listed and its for $20 so may be awhile unless they drop down the price to affordable.

The final card for this win, pink pulsar refractor of my boy Saquon Barkley for $1.50 and free shipping.Couldn't turn that down could I?

This weeks grand total was $24.49. There was nothing for .51 I needed so I was happy stopping there.

I forgot to mention above, but that's really my first official TD autograph so knocking down a big time autograph for less than $20 was the way to go.

So now I gotta ask, what would you have spent $25 on this week?

$25 A Week Challenge Week 9:Collins Takeover

This weeks pickups are here fresh off the press, well, most are. The thing about this segment is, I am a few weeks behind on some adds.

So let's check this out!!

(oh and this will be the final week on the Kerry Collins adds in this segment, they will be featured in another way down the road)

I already had one of the Black Diamonds from 1998 for Kerry Collins, so why not add another especially for $.99 and shipping for $1.00.

Low numbered, rare 90's insert of my new PC for $1.49 and $1.55 shipping...yes!

Whether it was Collins or not, $2.49 plus $.50 for shipping on this beautiful International refractor was an easy grab.

A NY Giants relic for $3 plus free shipping. Yes!

Same goes for this one with $3 and free shipping.

Underclassmen refractor and a

a 1995 Stadium Club rookie add for $.99 and $.35,  YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT. THIRTY FIVE CENTS SHIPPING. I couldn't leave that there.

It's not very often you land a low numbered card of a top rookie QB for .99 with  $2.49 shipping. I had to grab it.

A new Saquon Barkley add for $.99 and free shipping. I love the photography on this one.

And a nice foil based Gridiron Force for just $1.49 and free shipping!

This weeks grand total is $21.88. Always fun to stay under budget when you can.

Some nice PC pickups all around and more to come next week including the 10th post in this series so I am gonna have to make it a special card.

So now I pass it onto you, what would you have picked up for $25 this week?

$25 A Week Challenge Week 7:I Found A Tooth!

Another week has come and gone, which means a whole new week of pickups for this segment and my PC.

And boy did I ever go the weird route with this one. I can't explain why I grabbed what I did when I did, I just did.

But some cool things I grabbed this week!

First up, this Bowmans Best refractor for $2.99. Still need the base and atomic to have all three.

This next card will get your teeth chattering.....
Super cool prop relic...

A tooth relic from Ghost Whisperer. If you hadn't ever seen the show, I watched every episode and was very disappointed when the canceled it, Melinda Gordon played by Jennifer Love Hewitt could  communicate with the earthbound spirits of people who have died and had come to her for help with those still alive. Was always interesting story lines and how they were taking the show.

The show only went for five seasons even though there was much more to tell.

The person who was selling this also threw in bonus items of the following,

Some interesting toss ins. Got only $9.89 overall invested in this lot. I may look into future relic adds like this. Can I smell set chase.....

Then came another out of the blue pickup, Gary V had mentioned on Twitter and someone retweeted his post, I don't follow the guy as I haven't fallen in love with him like some collectors, about old Vending Machine Prism stickers and realized I had forgotten about them.

So I searched and found some cheap Mighty Morphin Power Rangers ones from 1994 and grabbed them.

These three stickers were only $5.39. I at least have some now.

And finally, I still have been adding toys when I can find them cheap. I was missing Launchpad for my Darkwing Duck collection and when I made an offer of $2.00 and got it, I was stoked. Only was $3.74 for shipping so not too terrible.

This weeks grand total of misfit random items....... $24.01

So I gotta ask, what would you have spent your $25 on this week?

$25 A Week Challenge Week 5: Playing In Dirt

Welcome back to another week of pickups by me!

Let's see where I put my hard earned moola this week.

Found this 1999 Black Diamond pack with free shipping and at $4 a pack, can't go wrong with that. I will reveal how I did in another post as I did bust this one.

Yes, Yes I did. I finally found an affordable Mandy Moore relic from PopCardz as I have mentioned before on here, my mad crush for her.

For $5 and free shipping, I couldn't go wrong.

Awhile ago, Fuji had posted that there was a unique relic in 1996 I hadn't heard about before but I felt I needed after seeing his post. It's a 1996 Fleer Ultra Diamond Dust relic featuring Cal Ripken Jr. The relic contains dirt from Camden and has a guarantee by the heads groundskeeper. It's dirt from his historic 1995 season.

Most were listed at BIN at $29 which overdoes my budget and wouldn't fit into this post.

But, when I saw one listed as an auction, I took a chance and won it at $9.55 with $4 shipping. I think it was $14 well spent.

This weeks grand total is $22.55. I stayed well under budget but that's only because of the wiggle room from the Ripken going for less than I expected.

So thoughts on this weeks pickups are welcomed and I am curious what you would have done this week with $25?
