Retail Break 'Em: Dollar Tree's Ultimate Jumbo Pack Baseball

Recently, I visited a local Dollar Tree just to check out their card section since it had been awhile since I had done so. There was a good amount of variety from brands and sports and I was impressed that, despite being retail, that you can buy packs of cards for only $1!

Sitting on the bottom shelf was these re-wrapped packs in a baggy type material. There was baseball and football to choose from. The packages have 30 cards with a variety of brands and years promised in them. I thought, hey, for $1, why not? And gave one a try. I didn't expect anything spectacular and that was basically the result. You can never be to sure however on things like these so wanted to see if I could beat the odds.

Here is how I did:

I like the couple of Yankee additions here:

These are the top cards of the bunch:

Overall, you get what you pay for. It was a fun rip however not knowing what mysteries were within. Another thing to note about these is on the back is a wrapper autograph card redemption program where you mail in 4 of the wrappers along with a couple of bucks in exchange for an autographed card. That also struck my curiosity. I don't know if I will ever buy any again, but was kind of a unique offering especially since the wrappers would only cost you $4 total.

Let me know if you have ever ripped one of these or what your thoughts are on something like this.

  1. I've ripped those packs before. I even sent in my four wrappers and paid the shipping for the autographed card. The card I got was some random Utah college football player I've never heard of. So yeah, it's not worth it.
