https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSetvwvkYSz25E3AurL6CnPnSN-H5xaIV4RsmbCoYMGafvKs1Q/viewform

THIS IS THE FINAL VOTES from the nominees AS OPPOSED TO THE LAST TIME I POSTED WHERE IT WAS for the nomination.

My other blog Cards Over Coffee is also nominated for two spots, if interested, please vote on it. This time I caved and voted for myself. I figured one vote won't make a difference. But you can!

If not, please vote on your favorites. Bloggers spend so much time and effort doing what they do and are the backbone to the hobby whether the big companies want to see it or not, it would be great to give them even a little recognition.

Rodney's Cardboard:2024 Topps Chrome Frozenfractor

Winter is right around the corner for some, for me, it's already arrived as we have had snow on and off since the end of October.

Nothing has fully collected on the ground yet, but, we that live here know what's to come.

So, what better card to show off on this Rodney's Cardboard Sunday than a Frozenfractor.

It's got a chill to the card with the serial numbering as -2/0.

This doesn't mean that this is numbered to 0 or -2, it's just part of the look.

I believe these chilly cards are SSP's rumored to be numbered to 5 overall.

Speaking of a chill in the air, let's not even talk about today's Giants game. They can't catch a break or a cold.

But, enough about them. The dreadful season is almost over and that's not going to give me frigid feelings over it.

Hope everyone had a great Sunday. Sorry about the late night Rodney but better than never!

Next Sunday the plan is to have Rodney posted sooner, but we will see how my time goes this week.

Rodney's Cardboard:2024 Topps Inception Magenta /99

(Previously posted on Big Blue Cardboard. All Rodney's Cardboard posts from here on out will be cross-posted)

It's October and we are already one month into the football season.

Crazy!

Today the NY Giants (1-3) travel to New Orleans (0-4) to take on the Saints. Records are always out the door in games like this. It could go either way, I just hope it's my way.

While we all wait for kickoff, let's take a look at a new Rodney.

This is the Magenta parallel, not be confused with the red parallel though looks pretty similar.

I really like the look of Inception this year and have more to chase whenever they pop up. The base Hampton is still like chasing the 1/1 at this juncture. I am surprised that someone out there doesn't have it!

Anyways, I hope everyone has a great Sunday. God Bless!

BOT-ember!

I am a guy of numbers and when I see numbers go crazy like they this past month on here, I tend to question them.

I really haven't had time to post at all on here since May as most of my blogging focus has been on Cards Over Coffee, which is now my main blog.

But, for kicks, I actually started posting on here the last few days to see what kind of traffic would kick up....it actually made them go down.

That's how you know the bots took over.

That and my blogging records that were absolutely destroyed.

Last month alone this blog put up 328,190 views which was two times plus the record I had on here. This blog wasn't alone as Cards Over Coffee did the same kind of record numbers, even though I did post a few times on there (ps check them out and go follow!!)

I do appreciate those of you who do come here to read my posts still and maybe some of you go back and read the older posts here still.

I am trying to decide what the future and fate are of all three of my blogs, the other is Big Blue Cardboard, as my college classes ramp up and my life gets busier. I am no where close to retiring, just have to find the time to blog when and where I can and how I can.

Being that this blog is much quicker, you may see more posts on here in the next few months with older segments returning which is what I did in May.

Have a great October everyone!

No! Not him!

No!!!!!!!!

Not him!!!!

Not our best player!!!!!!

Why Metlife???? Why??

Why did you have to damage our best player..........AGAIN??!!

If you haven't heard yet, the NY Giants best player and upcoming NFL stud Malik Nabers was injured during the win over the Chargers on Sunday tearing his ACL because of the terrible turf at Metlife. The same kind of injury that former star wide out Odell Beckham Jr suffered as well.

And many other Giants.

The Giants have to replace that turf.

They can't keep putting players through this. Especially their young stars like Malik. He was going to have an even bigger role and even more breakout year this year and would have been the weapon that young rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart needed.

Instead, he is out.

So, all I have for now, is memories of what was this season and last season and these recent pickups,

This is a collection I will continue to add to as time goes on.

I hope he comes back fully healthy and ready next season. The Giants will need him. Jaxson Dart will need him.

We Got One!!

Somehow or another, the football Gods came to save the NY Giants season as they pulled off the upset over the 3-0 LA Chargers with a 21-18 win.

And most of that was because of rookie Quarterback Jaxson Dart who all Giants fans like myself hope will be THE GUY in New York finally after we suffered through so much quarterback pain since Eli Manning retired.

Anyways, here are a few of my most recent Dart additions. I don't have anywhere near what most would consider an "epic" Dart collection, but I have a few solid cards.

Dart finished the day throwing for 111 yards and a touchdown along with rushing for 54 yards and another touchdown. The most important stat was the win.

Next week the Giants take on the New Orleans Saints on the road. Hopefully Sunday's win will be a turn of the season.

Rodney's Cardboard: 2024 Finest Autograph Refractor

(Previously posted on Big Blue Cardboard. All Rodney's Cardboard posts from here on out will be cross-posted)

It's Sunday, which means another NEW Rodney's Cardboard!

I haven't done one of these in a few months and it's now football season, so I figured it was time.

Today, we will begin a run of different Topps Finest autograph cards I have in this chase over the next few weeks.

Rodney has 13 different autograph cards in the set and so far, I have roughly half of them.  Today's was one of the easier ones to acquire for the parallel end. The base refractor autographs are not numbered so are probably more plentiful though I still don't see a lot of them hanging around.

Hope everyone has a great start to their teams football season!

Wrappers Of Collecting Past:1997 Fleer Football Retail Pack

As I move along with new posts this May and now marking these 26 straight days with a post, most were pre-written drafts and just needed to be published, I wanted to re-visit some of my past segments and give them one last goodbye on this blog.

The goal this month was not only to put up some new posts to test how this blog can fair still, but it was to also bring back some memories and also maybe give me some motivation and ideas to write on Cards Over Coffee which will/has become my main blog now.

I also really want to hit 3 million views before the month ends so I was hoping using up some old pre-written drafts from all three blogs it would get me there.

So, another segment I wanted to say goodbye to was one I really had to dig back because hasn't been posted in almost 7 years. Most of you will not remember this one.

Here is Wrappers Of Collecting Past.

This segment basically showed off what wrappers looked like from my past. This one is 1997 Fleer football retail which I ripped plenty of in multiple sports in those days.

The cards were the ones without gloss but had amazing photos. Picture a rough feeling Stadium Club card.

I do like the design on the wrapper as well, very attention grabbing.

What do you think of this segment? Remember it? Let me know in comments!

Rodney's Cardboard:2024 Topps Chrome Sapphire

(Previously posted on Big Blue Cardboard. All Rodney's Cardboard posts from here on out will be cross-posted)
Welcome back to another NEW Rodney's Cardboard!

I know the last few weeks I have bounced around everywhere with my additions, but I am doing that for you. I don't want you to have to stare at the same kind of parallel or new card every week.

This week we are taking a look at what I call the Topps Chrome spinoff in Sapphire. So, not only do I have 30+ Rodney's to chase in base Chrome, I also have Sapphire and it's seven parallels.

CRAZY!

I will admit that the Sapphire does look a lot cooler with the parallels than the base Chrome series after seeing a few pop up. I did however miss out on the 1/1 even though a buddy of mine had his eye on it.

Here's hoping that one pops up again, but in the meantime I will continue to add what I can.

Hit And Run

It's been a while since I have had a spark to add to my Ken Griffey Jr collection, but it came and came fast recently.

I acquired a new one in a trade on Twitter and all of a sudden, I am on the Junior adding train again.

So, I am looking to trade for new Griffey's to add to my collection and the easiest way to see the ones I need is to check out my spreadsheet that you can find HERE. But, if you don't want to take the time to do that, just know I don't have a lot of new product ones. If any.

If you have some and are looking to trade, hit me up with some pictures at sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com. I have plenty to trade from every team.

Thanks and keep on swingin'!

4-2

Yeah, I am just a little behind on posting this, but the NY Knicks gave a butt whoopin' to the Celtics in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semis and are in the Eastern Conference Finals against the Pacers.

This series was very shocking to me as I didn't expect the Knicks to advance especially after getting swept in the regular season.

It was just as shocking as the Pacers beating the Cavs the way they did.

It should be a good series with this long-time rivalry, probably won't be 90's Pacers/Knicks good, but it should be a close one.

Let's Go Knicks! Game 1 tonight!

I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for coming back and reading. I wouldn't be posting if you weren't reading which means this number never would have been met.

Sorry, that today's post was a short one, but I made it count.

Rodney's Cardboard:2024 Finest Black Refractor Autograph /25

(Previously posted on Big Blue Cardboard. All Rodney's Cardboard posts from here on out will be cross-posted)
It's Sunday and it's time for a new Rodney's Cardboard.

This is actually one of my newest Rodney adds in the mail.

I have about five of the refractor autographs I need from the 2024 Finest set for Rodney. This is the second lowest numbered one I have in the run, I also have a red /5.

I actually like this one more than the red because I think the blue against the black background looks solid. More than the red does.

There are still 6 more to go in the run also including another black one which is still /25 but has like a square type of shape background.

Right now, as I type this, there are no more needs listed so hopefully some will pop up soon. I missed out on the /10 oil spill parallel which stinks, but there are still nine others that may pop up. It's when you miss a 1/1 that is the real kick.

Come back next week for another NEW Rodney's Cardboard! Have a great Sunday!

Da PMG's!

We go from Parks and Recreation autograph chase, now to another chase.

I have been adding to my Upper Deck Marvel Purple Achievement PMG's the last couple of years. They are not only great looking cards, but, brings back that PMG fun that I never had as a kid.

I also really got myself nerdy a couple of years ago watching all, well most some were kind of boring, Marvel Movies.

This version of the PMG's feature characters from the movie and not the animation which is why I like these ones more. Upper Deck does do both versions but I connect more with these.

Do you have any I don't? Wanna trade? Hit me up at sportcardcollectors@hotmail.com.

Parks And Rec

I am not sure when or if at all I have posted these on any of my blogs, but I wanted to post it (maybe again) anyways to show my progress in my autograph chase for the 2013 Press Pass Parks and Recreation set.

Well, not set. I am not chasing the set. I just want one autograph of each person in the set.

I am currently only four away from finishing my goal, however, those four are the most expensive in the set.

Here are the actors that remain,
Aziz Ansari
Paul Rudd
Rob Lowe
Amy Poehler

If you have any available that I need for trade, please hit me up!

I did finish the single relic set, so would be nice to finish this chase as well.

3-1

(thanks to reader Grady M for this Jalen Brunson card)

Behind this guy's 39 points, the Knicks were able to overcome another double-digit deficit and take a commanding 3-1 series lead over the defending champ Celtics heading into Wednesday night's game in Boston.

They are one win away from the Eastern Conference finals for the first time since the 1999-2000 season. I thought for sure the Celtics would sweep 'em. But they have played resilient.

Now they just need to finish the job because I know this series is far from over with or without Jayson Tatum.

Rodney's Cardboard:2024 Topps Inception Purple /125

(Previously posted on Big Blue Cardboard. All Rodney's Cardboard posts from here on out will be cross-posted)

We are back at it again! Another Rodney, another Sunday.

This week we look at the second Rodney I have for 2024 Topps Inception. This one is the purple parallel /125.

The design is the same and the only big differences in these parallels are the background colors.

Still looks just as cool as the others. I really hope to acquire the blue soon that way I can have the team match parallel. That one is actually listed along with a gold one I need as well.

It will be the 1/1 that won't be the fun part of this chase, or any chase in that matter.

All I Do Is Sort,Sort, Sort, Sort

The last few weeks I haven't been blogging too much or been doing much else other than, sort, sort, sort ,sort with me and my sorties.

Well, me and myself.

Whether it was sorting my set needs above.
Putting away my Christmas cards finally all in one place.

Or finally putting most of my Ken Griffey Jr's in one place by year, it has been quite the adventure into sorting and it's not even close to being done yet.

Along with these main projects which was mostly putting stuff away, well the Griffey and Christmas projects were long coming, I still have other stuff in my collection I want to re-sort and re-box/binder.

Just need to find the time to do it. That's the toughest part and it may require me to take some time away from blogging to do it as I have limited free time every day.

We will see.

All I know is that I will use the chipping away approach I have been using already. Every little bit gets me closer to where I want to be.

Even if it takes a year more to complete. I will get there.

Or will I? Do any of us actually get there. Because all we do is sort, sort, sort ,sort, sort.

Rodney's Cardboard:2024 Topps Inception Green

(Previously posted on Big Blue Cardboard. All Rodney's Cardboard posts from here on out will be cross-posted)

It's Sunday which means it's time for a new Rodney's Cardboard!!

This week I am showing off my first Topps Inception add from that chase.

In Topps Inception, Rodney has a base card and some parallels. Overall, only 11 to chase as opposed to Topps Chrome which now I think has about 40-something. Seems every time I check, one hits eBay that I didn't have on my checklist. It's a weird ever-growing quest.

So far, Topps has done good with its photo selection of Rodney on all of its releases avoiding the missing logo. I am really digging the Inception design this year as I think the card really pops.

There will be a couple more posts from this chase coming up along with Topps Chrome and Finest and a rarity from the 90's.

Happy Sunday!

  10. Malik Nabers Cards
A lot has changed since the last post, mostly moving on from Marvel cards. Not that I wouldn't welcome some new relics and autographs of them. But, as I said, this post is always going to have updates up and down across what mood I am in.

I am certain some of these will move up and down before next week and maybe even off the list. Time will tell.

In comments today, tell me what is trending in your collecting and what you are seeking the most this week.

It's May and I promised some new posts on Sport Card Collectors, so here we go.

Going Back To My Roots

13 years. 10 consecutive years of not missing one post. 6,280 total posts (once this one is published), three name changes. Loss of posts a few times but brought them back (barely). Almost retired twice. Close to 3 million views.

Sport Card Collectors has stood the test of time.

But it's been hard to blog on here full time anymore once my streak of daily posts ended and once I started to have two other spinoff blogs, but energy had shifted elsewhere.

Which is disappointing since my roots to everything I have accomplished in the hobby over the past 13 years was because of this blog.

This blog gave me my place in the hobby. It brought me friends, sponsors (at one time), given me plenty of writing opportunities on other websites, helped fill set needs, helped me give back to the hobby, and brought me joy with sharing my mail days, opinions and having some fun.

I guess by now you know where this post is going.

In May, I am hoping to give this blog another go around and give the readers back what I used to post on here but improved.

Get ready for those Sundays with Rodney Hampton. Maybe a few of those Caption This Cards. Mail day shares. My humor (you better laugh), having Sets (my favorite play on words), and who knows what else. But you will find it all in one place and not across three.

Get ready for the new-improved-revived Sport Card Collectors.

BLOG CROSSOVER EVENT 1: Million Dollar Idea

I watch more TV than I should, but it keeps me centered in my life.

I watch it while I blog, while I sort cards, while I do house chores or simply when I have a few minutes of downtime.

One of my favorite things to watch is when shows do crossover episodes. These kinds of episodes occur when they are trying to either get the word out on the new shows or trying to keep them from continuing to falter. since they can't match the original.

For example, there are multiple NCIS shows and sometimes they will crossover three of them into one extended episode starting with the key show because that first show had always carried the weight. Now it's time to help NCIS Sydney and NCIS Hawaii.

I thought, hey, I run three blogs with two that are kind of struggling, why not do a blog crossover event? It's something that no blogger has done before...at least I don't think it's been done so that would be a fun creative idea as well.

So, here is how this will work. I am showing off my latest mail day from Reader Oren. I will post some of the mail day here, move onto Cards Over Coffee for Part 2 before finishing it up at Big Blue Cardboard for Part 3.

In order for you to see the full mail day you will have to read all three blogs on three different days.

Hopefully this will also influence you to follow/subscribe/add them to your blogroll while you are at it :)

First, let's see how this one goes while we examine my latest mail day from Oren.

In the Sport Card Collectors part of the mail day, I am showing off the 1997 Fleer Million Dollar Moments cards. These cards fell 1 in every pack and were spread across multiple products from 1997 and early 1998 and sports. Each sport had 50 cards to chase, and each offered a chance to win a Million Dollars.

In order to win the Million, you must complete the 50-card set. Sounds easy, but it wasn't Cards 46-50 were all short printed with one of the cards rumored to only have one copy. Meaning, it's a 1/1.

I didn't find that particular card in this lot from Oren, but here are the ones I did find,

As far as anyone knows, there wasn't a one-million-dollar winner announced for any of the sports. I would assume that tough to find 1/1 card is still out there. Maybe a collector even has it and doesn't know it. Maybe some collectors thought these were trash and tossed them. Guess we will never know.

All I know is that we don't offer this kind of fun chases anymore.

I wished.

More to come in this mail day. But you will have to read Cards Over Coffee tomorrow to see what else Oren included in this mail day.
