Rodney's Cardboard: Lots Of Plates

Hello and welcome back to a NEW Rodney's Cardboard.

Today, instead of posting these all individually like I had planned to that way I can stretch out this segment some, I decided to just post them all at once.

Not all of the new Rodney's, just the Printing Plates.

90's Printing Plates aren't easy to come by, but there is a seller on eBay who has a bunch, 11 to be exact more that I don't have of the legendary Rodney.

There was more than that he had until my buddy and former blogger Wes dropped a Christmas bomb on me and acquired a few others the seller had.

I already showed one of those off a few weeks ago but here are the rest of them. These feature some back plates and some front ones as well.

And that's all of them! All one of ones and all are mine now. For one of these upcoming Rodney's Cardboard posts I should post all of the plates I have.

Thanks again to Wes for this very generous gift.

Thoughts on my latest adds welcomed in comments!

The Gifts Flew In

It's almost five days short of being Christmas a month ago. A MONTH AGO. I can't believe how fast January has gone but I am not complaining. It feels to be the longest month...and coldest one. I am ready to move on.

I received many mail days in or around Christmas and held them until Christmas to open. A couple of those mail days were actually gifts and one of those I am posting today.

This was my mail day Christmas gift from blog reader Oren.

Two unopened packs of 1996 Fleer Ultra Sensations opens up this mail day. I did open one pack and did keep one sealed...for now. The results from the one or both will be posted at a later date.

Santa cards, all are new! Love the shiny one.

Sterling Shepard auto!! It's numbered to 15.

Looney Tunes

And we close it out with a 10-card set from 1996 Fleer Smoke N Heat.

Big thanks to Oren for the Christmas gift. I appreciate it buddy!

More posts to come as I continue to catch up on mail days.

Breakin' Wax:2021 Prizm WNBA

As I expected, cards at Christmas time were not plentiful. I actually wouldn't have had much to open at all in that aspect if it wasn't for hobby friends, I did many trades within December.

However, my Christmas wasn't completely empty handed on cardboard. I had to make a list for my mother-in-law of things I was interested in for Christmas. I had a feeling finding cards wouldn't be easy so I tried to not only focus on what I wanted the most.

So, on Christmas morning other than getting together for breakfast, she also brought out a gift bag full of stuff. It had the usual candy (which I am taking it very slow on with my recent diabetes news), a couple of kitchen items she felt I needed, 20 stamps (pwe time!) and then a blaster box of cards. I must say before showing off what I got that I didn't specify what sports I collected and just put down any sport in hopes some would be found.

And to my luck there was. It was in the form of a 2021 WNBA Prizm blaster box that came with 5 packs of 4 cards along with 5 inserts or parallels.

I was just happy to see cards to open, though not a big WNBA fan like I was in the 90's with Rebecca Lobo and the NY Liberty. I had actually stared at these blasters and almost pulled the trigger a few times since I like Prizm, but the price point scared me away at $35 a pop.

Regardless of how this break turned out, at least I didn't shell out the money to buy it lol.
Here were a couple of rookies I found. One of you will have to tell me if I landed anything special.

Green parallels.

I see A'JA Wilson is on the box front so that's gotta be good right?

And my silver Prizm. Always like the silvers.

Overall, not sure how I did, but it was fun to open something a little different.

Let me know your thoughts on this break in comments!

Christmas 2021

It's Christmas time again.....

My favorite holiday has finally arrived! It's time to spend the day with family, watch movies, drink cocoa and soak in the spirit of Christmas.

I also wanted to take a moment out to say Happy Birthday to Jesus.  He is the reason for the season.

Now to show off my latest Christmas card adds. I enjoy cards that feature Santa, Topps and Bowman Holiday Sp's or parallels, Santa hat swatches or good-looking relic cards that feature Christmas.

I can't quite remember now who I made this trade with to land these since it was awhile ago, but this trade was nailed.

Aquino with a scarf

The infamous Candy Cane bat by Machado

Josh Bell with Mittens that look like boxing gloves

Jersey relics with plenty of Christmas cheer

and my favorite relics of the season, Rookie Sweaters. I collected the entire 2020 set except 4 duals I need to finish up. I believe I have close to 10 for 2021 but at this point I have no plans on collecting the set. I would accept any I didn't have though.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday!
