Mail Day Saturday:Who Dey?

I have been following @clairedabear85 on Twitter for awhile now entering her many NFL related contests as she is a huge football fan. And as you guys know, so am I.

One of her recent contests was for a mystery envelope that she put together and forgot the contents. I was hoping the mystery had some NY Giants involved but I was happy either way because a lot of her items are from the International NFL games from the UK as that's where she is from. So any of those items would be unique for the man cave.

With the package having to cross the ocean, it took a couple of weeks but arrived safely to my mail box on Wednesday. I couldn't wait to rip it open to uncover the mystery.

Inside, I could see there was a theme. A Bengal theme which was based off from last seasons Bengals Vs Redskins game in October. One that was a thriller til end with nobody winning in the 27 all tie. It may have been one of the best games ever played in the UK to date.

So let's see what was sent.

Here is a mini pennant, a couple of tats and a window sticker.

This item I loved. A unique mini flag from the event. This will look awesome in the man cave.

Up next, AJ McCarron rookie card from Rookies And Stars.

Then a pretty sweet Bengals cheerleader poster with some pics signed. I am not sure how my wife will feel about this in the man cave, but that's where it's going haha

And to close this out, autograph of future star AJ McCarron which a lot of teams have been high on for awhile. I just wished he could get out there and play. This goes along a few other autographed cards of him I have I've been sitting on. I dig the silver ink signing. I asked @clairedabear85 about the auto and she said he signed it at a store signing right in front of her so it's pretty solid.

A huge thanks goes out to @clairedabear85 for the goodies and if you are not following her and this above doesn't give you enough reason to..well....your loss. I think many have questioned her if any international winners ever happen and I can say yes, just read this post.

Thoughts on my mail day are welcomed in comments!

4 New Dre's

So we continue my trade recap with 90's Niche Football Card blog for Day 7 and this time it's all about Dre.

Even though Andre is currently not with the team anymore, I still have been adding to my PC of him. It's an affordable one with some nice looking cards and it's still Giants blue so I am fine with it.

I do wish a team would give him a chance to play. The Chargers have Melvin Gordon who is having an amazing season so the odds of Andre playing there just isn't in the cards.

First is a jersey card I didn't have. I like the design.

On-card silver autograph from Inception. If it wasn't for the 00 jersey on him here, the card is superb!

Another National Treasures card. One of only three total cards I own of this product. Loving the patch here.

And we end it out on a High note. Yes, see what I did there. My very first High Tek auto. So shiny and awesome.

With these 4 now added, my Andre Williams PC has now eclipsed the 90 different card mark. I am always looking to add new ones especially if they are unique ones like the ones above.

A Bump And Run Trade Mail Day!

Recently I was contacted by Trevor over at Bump and Run Football Cards Blog about doing a PWE trade. It took me awhile to get some stuff together for him as the searching can sometimes be a process, but I was able to send him some stuff and was blown away yesterday by what he sent me.

It was one of those moments I hoped to had sent enough as the amount of cards I sent really differed. It appears I need to be taught the ropes on how to send a well packed PWE of goodies. Something he and Gavin both know really well.

Up first, some G-Men. I really liked the Gridiron release. I wished Panini could had done that again. The photography in the set was amazing. The Fleer Sherrard brings me back to when I first started buying more football. I bought a ton of that product. I owned every insert set because of it.

Shiny and NY Giants, SCORE! New Randle for my PC as well. Wonder what he is doing this year??..Anyways, marks Randle number 105.

More Giants and a well fitting parallel in Rookie and Stars with True Blue. I surprisingly didn't have the Jason Seahorn or the Tyrone Wheatley from the 90's.

Speaking of the 90's, loved these! Phillips never really panned out, unless you are talking prison, but the card is really cool. The Hilliard/Westbrook insert not only rocks, but it's shiny!

This is an insert I have wanted a card of for years!! I saw it on Trevor's box break of 1997 Zenith Football and had to request for it. Very cool lenticular motion!

I also went and checked out his cards for trade. I never realized I lacked this Griffey from my collection. 1997 New Pinnacle. Griffey number 828.

And to close out the mail day, I really needed a Shane Vereen auto. It's in that bloody awful Patriots uniform, but I still like it. Just gotta put my thumb over their helmet as I am right now.

A big thanks goes out to Trevor for these awesome card adds and for expanding my trade circle.. I look forward to another trade in the future and next time I plan on sending a few extra cards.

Be sure to check out his blog as well. Great stuff going on over at Bump and Run Football Cards Blog.

Thoughts on my mail day are welcomed below!

Project Pedro Trade Recap Part 16:WALK(er) Away With This One

October has officially been named, Cards I Got From Project Pedro Blog Month.

Herschel Walker just seemed felt like an autograph I just needed to add to my collection. I had just grabbed his rookie last year and thought this would be a great duo with it.

Walker had an amazing College Hall Of Fame career but his game didn't quite translate to the pros. He played for multiple teams including my Giants and had a few good seasons but nothing like in college.

However, life outside football has been good for him. He has done many things including mixed martial arts, Olympic bobsledding, track and field, taekwondo, and ballet dancing. Herschel even won season 3 of Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off. Sounds like a busy guy.

Thoughts on today's card and if you watched Walker at all, what was your favorite moment of his are welcomed in comments.

TTM: Tim Allen Did Me Right!

If you read the blog last week, you would have known I sent out an TTM request to Tim Allen.

Well, he responded with a photo and a printed signature. I was happy just for the response, but still wanted more from one of my favorites. So I sent a few physical items that were more personal to a better address hoping for better results.

Well, looks like he did me right this time...

I just wished I could had lightened the color on the photocopies I had sent but this time he "on-card signed" them. That's right, Tim Allen, the legend, physically touched these and signed them. Well, saying it that way makes me sound creepy lol.

A big thanks goes out to Tim for taking a second out to sign these for me. They will be framed and added to the man cave wall as pieces of remembrance from my childhood.

Have you guys ever sent a request to Tim? Have you ever re-sent in a request to actually get something signed after your first attempt was a fail? How did that go?

REVIEW: 2016 Cryptozoic The Walking Dead Season 4 Part 1 (BONUS HIT AND AUTO GIVEAWAY)

So I only have a few minutes to get this review out to you. I know they are coming and I don't wanna be the next victim....I wanna stay one of the survivors...

In every box of 2016 Cryptozoic The Walking Dead Season 4 Part 1, you get 24 packs with 5 cards per pack. There should be one wardrobe and one on-card autograph per box. Boxes run, like I might have to do soon as the dead are coming into view, $85.

The base set design is nice one with full color photography that captures images from season 4.

There are 72 cards in a base set and you should complete that set in one box.

Now onto the inserts, you should complete each set. I was a bit disappointed that Cryptozoic did not include silver foil parallels for inserts.

These are Character Card inserts. They fall 1:3 packs and are telling you about each main character.

Posters fall 1:6 packs and showcase images you may see on a poster to draw you into the show.

Puzzle Cards that fall 1:3 packs and in the end all 9 cards create...

This nice piece! I always enjoy Cryptozoic's puzzle cards.

Cryptomium parallels probably fall one-per-box like the rest of the products they run or 1:24 packs. This one appears to be of the puzzle piece above.

Now onto the hits. On average there should be one wardrobe and one autograph per box, I pulled a bonus hit in mine. There are also prop cards too that fall at the same rate of 1:24 and are pretty cool.

I pulled key characters as my hits in Rick and Carl Grimes. I really like the design/layout of these as well.

Now onto my autograph. It's on-card like all of their autographs in products are and mine is of Dr.S who is played by Sunkrish Bala.

Key autograph signers in the set are:

• Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes
• Jose Pablo Cantillo as Caesar Martinez
• Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon
• Kyla Kenedy as Mika Samuels
• Greg Nicotero, Co-Executive Producer
• Sunkrish Bala as Dr. S.
• Scott Wilson as Hershel Greene
• Chad L. Coleman as Tyreese Williams
• Emily Kinney as Beth Greene
• Brighton Sharbino as Lizzie Samuels
• Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier
• David Morrissey as The Governor

You can find rest of the checklist, HERE.

You can also find stunning Sketch cards (1:1006 packs) and Printing Plates (1:691 packs).

Overall, before I lose consciousness from being chewed on, I think the product is pretty solid for the price. Base set, insert sets, one on-card autograph and one wardrobe card not to mention possible bonus hits. It's the same price you would pay for a sports product with this amount of hits. Except the values of these never go down.

It also helps that the product looks nice.

Okay, now time for you to find out how to win this autograph:

1. MUST be a U.S. resident to enter. Shipping costs have gone haywire and I can't afford to ship everywhere. Sorry about this as I appreciate all readers.
2. Cards will be shipped PWE
3. Random winners will be chosen after 7 randoms
4. LEAVE A COMMENT BELOW TELLING ME YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE PRODUCT. Do you like it? What would you fix about it? What's your favorite part?
5. Sport Card Collectors or it's owner (person who runs the blog), WILL NOT be held responsible for lost, stolen or damaged mail. Sorry had to add this in since someone tried to scam me once about this.
6. Contest starts today, ends on Saturday, July 2nd 2016. Winners will be announced in a separate post on Sunday July 3rd 2016.
7. Earn extra entries by sharing this on your blogs or RTing it on Twitter. Make sure to comment with your links of doing so or I cannot count it.

Good luck to everyone who enters!

90's Niche Football Card Blog Trade Countdown Card # 1

The final card from my trade with 90's Niche Football Card Blog, was no other than this beyond epic piece of cardboard sugar candy.....

Even if you're not a Giants fan like myself, you have gotta appreciate this piece of cardboard. Sick patch, on-card auto and a great design.

I sometimes imagine how far the Giants would have gone if the career ending neck injury hadn't happened to  David. Dude was fun to watch when the ball was in his hands and I can only imagine what that offense would look like with him running the ball/ kick returns and having OBJ catching it. Double back flipping in the end zone for sure. Maybe I even would have attempted it to...well...maybe.

Thoughts on today's card is welcomed. Or if you can't type because you are too much in a trance, well, I will try to mind read them instead.

Thanks for checking it out!

90's Niche Football Card Blog Trade Countdown Card # 2

Alright, this was some amazing smooth moves on this pickup by 90's Niche Football Card Blog as he helped me land this HUGE autograph win very cheaply. Under $20! That may sound like a lot to some for a mostly no-name actor, but go ahead and check out what James Roday autographs go and list for.

This was probably the toughest card to land from the Seasons 5-8 autograph set as he was the star of the show, Mr. Shawn Spencer himself. So being able to knock this off the set needs was big.

When it comes to Roday's career, he was best known for this role. I am a bit surprised he has yet to appear in anything else since Psych, but maybe that will be a good sign that someday, maybe someday, some other network will pick this show up and give it life again. It was left hanging in a way it could easily be continued with. Actually, a lot of the actors/actresses have had no success since the show. So who knows?

With this auto, I have now narrowed my 20+ search down to 9. But, there are a few tough ones in between that are not easy finds. Really hoping I can do it.

I have finally narrowed it down to the final card that will be posted tomorrow. Any guesses? Let me hear them in comments!

90's Niche Football Card Blog Trade Countdown Card # 3

Yes, a lot of my trade with 90's Niche Football Card Blog was to help me knock some Psych autographs off from my want-list as I am really attempting this set. If I can complete it, it will be the biggest hobby accomplishment yet for me.

Today we kick off the Top 3 list with 3 NEW Psych autograph adds.

Jean Smart has been in many roles in her lifetime. She played on Designing Women from 86-91, was on Frasier, 24, Harry's Law, The District, Fargo and Samantha Who. Played also in a few movies The Brady Bunch Movie, The Odd Couple 2 and Sweet Home Alabama to name a few. Her lists go on and on and she even does Theater.

Billy Zane who is best known for playing Hughie in Dead Calm and for his role in Titantic as Caledon Hockley.

And Kirsten Nelson who is best known for her role on Psych as Chief Vick.

2 more posts to go. One more Psych auto and one mystery epic card. The Psych autograph is a biggie, so stay tuned to part 2 tomorrow

My 2014 Black Friday Steal!

Last year on Twitter, someone sent me a link to Amazon letting me know that there was something on there I would really want. Normally I don't check out links like that, but knowing who sent it, I was fine looking and glad that I did.

Normally I am not a big memorabilia person as I prefer everything in card form, but looking at it and knowing the $20 price tag, I left a quick subtle hint to my wife and in ten minutes it was mine. Grabbed it just in time to as only two were remaining at that point.

Super Bowl 46 Autograph mini helmet of Ahmad Bradshaw.

If you don't recall, he was the winning TD in that game. Technically he should had stopped before the goal line lining the Giants up for a last second game winning FG but fell in by mistake. Which I didn't mind, but the Giants barely held on after Tom Brady's Hail Mary attempt at the end. But, they still won and I still cheer on Ahmad because of his big role in the win.

This was by far the best Black Friday pick up for me in terms of my collection. Not sure if I will look again this year or not.

What's the best steal you have gotten on Black Friday for your collection whether it's cards or memorabilia?

Topps Redemption Mail Day

My patience with redemptions is very thin, I can usually only make it the four months before I require a replacement no matter what the card is. I would rather have something in hand than nothing.

So I replaced my 2014 Topps Five Star Auto parallel of Rashad Jennings, yes I didn't want that to go because it was a Giant, but I did anyways and go this in the mail....

A 2012 Topps Five Star rookie autograph of Michael Floyd.

It's a fair replacement in my opinion. I miss out on a Giants auto, but I get a rookie auto for the PC. 50/50 to me.

Thoughts on this mail day or your Topps redemptions you know where to leave em!

Breakin Wax:Psych Seasons 5-8 Hobby Box

Yesterday I showed you my results from a Seasons 1-4 box of Psych, today is the final three seasons of 5-8.

I didn't post a box picture because this is my second break of the product just like with 1-4. You can always find it on the blog by searching :)

I will break down a box again however.

Every box of Psych trading cards seasons 5-8 comes with 24 packs with 5 cards per pack. You will find three on-card autographs per box with boxes running roughly $45.

Here are my inserts. They seem to be much more tougher pulls in the second series which is fine with me as it drives up value. But that also means more base cards but I did get the base set.

Now onto the autographs. My first box contained two of these so I got two doubles. I am not going to complain however, all three of these autographs are good ones.

French Stewart I pulled in my first box.

Malcolm McDowell I pulled in my first box too.

However, Diedrich Bader, I needed. Most of us remember him from his ditzy character in the 90's on Drew Carey.

Once again I will say that I have no complaints even with the two doubles. I plan on keeping those by the way.

With these two good box breaks of Psych, I definitely want to go back for more. I am really hoping the next time that I bust a box that I land Shawn or Gus. I would be PSYCHed!

2015 Yard Sale Autograph Pickups Part 5:El Duque

My last pickup from the yard sale was an autograph I have always wanted since his days with the Yankees. Mr Orlando Hernandez or as the rest of us Yankee fans know his as, El Duque.

The dude was dominant and when he got that high leg kick going, you know hitters were in fear.

Even though he wasn't the top player in the group of autographs I picked up, this was my favorite piece.

First up, I like the photo. Great pose and even though not a Yankee uni, you gotta love the classic Expos look. Secondly, he has a great looking auto. Third, I got it for $5. A steal in my opinion.

Now that you have seen all five of my pickups, which one is your favorite and which one did you consider to be a steal?

Patchtastic Strata Randle Mail Day!

Other than Chrome, one of my favorite Topps sets is Topps Strata. Well, I can't say I like the whole product like I do with Chrome, but I do like the Clear Cut autographed relics a lot.

And one player I didn't have one for yet in my PC was Rueben Randle. Mostly because I didn't want to pay the $10 most were charging for a single color jersey version. The patches were much more. Once again, Randle hasn't proven he is a star and in my opinion they were charging like he was or is going to be.

This is Randles third season and he only has shown a few bright spots so I felt those prices were a bit steep even though I really wanted to add this card to my Randle PC.

So just for fun, I bid on a very reasonable priced Strata Randle auto/patch card, yes i went for the patch, assuming it would go for high like the others..........

And to my surprise, I was the ONLY bid. So my patience paid off and this great looking Randle made its way to my PC for $7.99. Now that's a price I was more willing to pay especially for the patch version.

As a topic to go along with this post, have you guys waited for a card you really wanted because you didn't want to pay what they were asking? Or did you buy it no matter what? And if you waited, has it paid off for you yet?

Your thoughts are always encouraged!

Breakin Wax:2014 Topps Platinum Football Blaster Box (AUTO!)

Topps Platinum+Marked Down Box At Walmart=One Happy Collector.

One of my favorite Topps products, other than Chrome, Topps Platinum comes packing with lots of colorful offerings right up my alley.

In every blaster box of 2014 Topps Platinum football, there are 8 packs of 4 cards. Normally these cost $20, but this one was $11.97. I always find the odds for autographs are much higher in Platinum and for the blasters.

Base card design is really nice. If I can't get my action photography, I want this.

The rookies are printed on a much different surfrace than the base. The base cards are printed on cardboard while the rookies on a chrome surface.

I pulled two great X-factors too.

And to my surprise, but not really, an autograph find. However, it's my stalker, Terrance West.

Overall, great deal. I got a couple good rookies, nice parallels and an auto. Can't go wrong.

2015 Yard Sale Autograph Pickups Part 3:SHAQ ATTACK!

I didn't need any Icy Hot to pick up this autograph at the yard sale. That's right, it's a Shaq auto.

The authenticity company wasn't one I had heard of before. I tried to do some research on them but came up empty.

The autograph is spot on to Shaqs after looking around at some. The only differences it seems in Shaq autos is his jersey number placement. Seems to be all over the place with every auto. But, for $10, I couldn't go wrong with this multi-NBA champions autograph..
