CARDBOARD REVIEW:2021 Panini Gold Standard Football

Panini Gold Standard has always been one of my high end favorites to pick up singles from. My Giants collection has some fun additions to it because of those snags.

I haven't really ever had a lot of luck, however, when it comes to actually opening up the product but maybe today is the day.

Let's see how the 2021 Gold Standard football goes:
Every box of 2021 Gold Standard football comes with 7 cards. Out of those 7 cards, 5 will be hits. Each box carries a golden price of $500.

BASE

With so many hits in a box, that gives you very little opportunities to find any base. My box had one base and that base was a rookie card of the Vikings.
Kene Nwangwu base is one of 100 rookies in the base set that consists of 200 cards overall. 100 of those other base cards are built up of legends of the game and current stars.

PARALLELS
An overall look at the parallels is the following,
  • Base - #/99
  • Platinum - #/75
  • White Gold - #/49
  • Rose Gold - #/25
  • Emerald FOTL - #/11
  • Violet - #/10
  • Sapphire - #/5
  • Black - 1/1

Nice Violet numbered to 10 of Legendary John Elway!

(also here is the back of a base card I forgot to show earlier)

Since there are no inserts, let's get straight to the hits!

Tutu Atwell RPA

Gold Gear Tarik Cohen

I don't say this about Cowboy card very often but this one is stunning. This is CeeDee Lamb Mother Lode patch/glove relic/football/and who knows what the top right one is. This is a Prime /49.

Legendary Jevon Kearse autograph relic

Bernie Kosar autograph relic

OVERALL THOUGHTS
Once again, Gold Standard brought out the beautiful cards again. Other than the amazing swatches, the colored ink is fun as well. I will admit though, that the gold on gold doesn't feel right such as that Tutu.

I really like the mix of rookies, veterans and legends of the game the product offers in both it's base set and hits. There are also some really cool relics you can't pull anywhere else (well maybe Absolute)

However, the price is way too steep right now and even the beauty of the cards can't hide that. I would suggest jumping on a box break  or buying singles if you like what you see above.

Leave me your thoughts below on this break and on the product.
