CARDBOARD REVIEW:2021-2022 Panini NBA Hoops Basketball

In the last couple of years I have found myself falling back in love with basketball cards again. I am still mainly aiming to get 90's inserts and my sets complete, but I am still also chasing PC players of newer guys for the Knicks such as Barrett, Quickley and Toppin.

This season has been a big disappointment in terms of the Knicks and how they have played. If only they could hold a lead instead of playing like the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl.

While I countdown for this season to end and have wishful thinking for the next, I have some new basketball to open in hand. This product usually is the one I use to kickoff my NBA collection yearly.

Let's check out a hobby box break of 2021-2022 Panini NBA Hoops.

For some reason my box photo didn't upload today. So let's just do the usual breakdown without it.

Every box of 2021-2022 Panini NBA Hoops comes with 24 packs of 8 cards. There are 24 insert/parallels along with 1 autograph to find in every box. Boxes currently run about $160.

BASE:
270 cards make up this years Hoops checklist. There is some incredible photography used in this set such as this Zion and the main base set is built up of 200 veterans and 70 rookies.

Here is an example of the rookies and how they look. My box was pretty weak on rookies and didn't come with either of the top players in this years draft.

PARALLELS:
You can find the following parallels in this years Hoops,
Anniversary Edition, Blue, Green Ice, Hyper Blue, Neon Green, Purple, Purple Winter, Red Backs, Teal Explosion, Winter, Yellow, Silver /199, Green /99, Hyper Red /99, 75th Anniversary /75, Red /75, Blue Explosion /59, Artist Proof /25, Hyper Green /25, Orange Explosion /25, Red Explosion /15, Artist Proof Gold /10, Hyper Gold /10, and Artist Proof Black 1/1.
Purples

Silver /199

INSERTS:
Inserts can come with the following parallels,
Holo, Hyper Red /99, Artist Proof /25, Hyper Green /25, Artist Proof Gold /10, and Hyper Gold /10.
Now Playing comes with 23 cards in the set and features this years rookies. The Kispert is a holo which is really just a foil look.

Hipnotized comes with 20 cards in the set and features a shiny foil.

Legends Of the Ball features, well Legends. 15 Legends of the game can be found in this set along with a Ewing I want.

High Voltage was my favorite insert in this years set. The neon green is really sharp and comes with 25 cards to collect.

High Court features 15 cards of the top players in the league.

We Got Next features 25 cards of the young guns in the game.

High Flying is where its at with Zero Gravity and the 20 cards in this set.

Prime Twine features 25 cards of the guys who can swoosh the net

Road To The Finals is all that playoff action. Cards are numbered from 2021 and less depending on the round. There are 100 cards to find.

City edition features 30 of the franchise favorites currently. Of course if you were to ask most Knicks fans right now this should be Barrett.

HITS:

I landed a Hot Signature of George McGinnis. This will be given away :)

OVERALL THOUGHTS:
There are some hidden treasures in Hoops, I just wished the price point was more like Topps Series 1 baseball with the one hit. If this had two hits with the second being an autograph or relic, the price point right now would be more correct.

I will say if you find any Hoops retail, that is also a fun rip and can land you a hit as well.

Thoughts on today's product is welcomed in comments!
